The Atholton Trail Blazers (Columbia), Pikesville Tigers, and Triadelphia Sparks (Clarksville) Pathfinder clubs move to the next level representing the Chesapeake Conference at the Columbia Union Level Pathfinder Bible Experience (PBE) contest planned for March 13 at Blue Mountain Academy in Pennsylvania. 2

The Columbia (Md.) Spanish company has gained church status, and celebrated during a festive worship service on Sabbath, February 11. "We started with one family meeting in their home in October 2010," says Orlando Rosales, the church's senior pastor and Chesapeake Conference Hispanic Ministries coordinator. The vibrant congregation has grown to 66 members. Frank and Dolly De Haan, members of the Willow Brook church in Boonsboro, Md., and longtime philanthropists, celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary on Sabbath, February 18. May God continue to bless the happy couple! Cambridge pastor joins community to honor civil rights leader Gloria Richardson 5
César Gonzalez, pastor for the Cambridge and Beacon of Light churches on Maryland's eastern shore, participated Sabbath, February 11, in a ceremony held at the Bethel African Methodist Episcopal (A.M.E.) Church to honor Gloria Richardson, 94, who fought for equality in Cambridge in the 1960s. Gonzalez set the tone for the occasion with an opening prayer. Lt. Gov. Boyd Rutherford presided over the ceremony. "I was the only Adventist and, surprisingly, the only non-african-american invited," says Gonzalez. This week, Gonzalez taped the second installment of "The Conversation," a radio show dealing with faith, race and politics in the Cambridge community that was born from the political climate after the election. "It has brought a lot of traffic to our website and I hope it continues to bring our town together," he says. Read full article 6
