WOR 202-3 credits Description: In this course we will examine the real meaning and purpose that God intended for music. We will discover the great importance and power of Kingdom music, and the relationship of music to the (S)spirit world. We will further inves tigate the role of music in praise and worship, spiritual warfare, prophecy, and revival. You will state four supernatural things that may result from the habitation of God in the praises of His people. You will state three categories or purposes of prophetic song. You will state at least three possible results of the prophetic song. You will state the four dimensions of prophecy. You will state the three purposes of the prophetic gift. You will state at least three tests to which all prophecy is to be submitted. You will state the appropriate response to true prophecy. You will state the significance of Jubal and Judah. 1

You will state why music is such a powerful means of communication. You will state three reasons for praise in the Church. You will state another meaning for the Hebrew word translated joyful. You will give four characteristics of the one who would sing the song of the Lord. Attitudinal: You will appreciate the various kinds of musical expressions that are expected in the Church. You will recognize that your worship here on earth is preparation for your joyful responsibilities of leading worship in heaven. You will expect the supernatural intervention of God in the midst of your praise. You will respect the power of music to get through the defenses of your conscious mind and influence your subconscious. You will receive true prophecy with faith. Standards for Grading Assignments As indicated below, C or 2.0 level work is considered average. Leaders are not average people. You are therefore expected (required) to put forth the effort necessary to demonstrate at least B (3.0) level work or higher on all assignments which you submit. Any which do not will be returned to you with input from your instructor on how you can raise your grade to the expected level. A course grade will not be given until your assignments demonstrate that you have understood the material presented in the course and allowed your life to be transformed by the Spirit and the Word studied the requirements for attaining a B. Your individual assignments (notebooks, tests, reports) will be graded according to the following standards. ese grades will be averaged together to determine your course grade. Remember, CLU is training leaders and leaders are above-average people. Your work will reflect that. Behavioral: You will participate in the psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs as they come forth in your local church. You will guard your heart and mind diligently by spiritually choosing the right music to listen to, sing, and play. You will test all prophecy and hold fast that which is good. You will cooperate with the Spirit as He forms in you the character He desires for one who would sing the prophetic song. D C B A Indicates barely passing work that is inferior to the average both in quantity and in quality. Manifests a lack of initiative or sense of responsibility or both. Average work; either steady work of an acceptable quality, or work of a high quality which is uneven, irregular or fragmentary. May be mechanically or outwardly correct but shows little reflection upon or personal assimilation of the material. Intelligently has fulfilled the requirements of this course. Understands the subject matter presented and has applied it to his life in a limited manner but has not really made the truths his own. Grasped the material with thoroughness, industry and correctness of detail. Made the material his own by thinking about it and integrating it, using originality, natural ability, and insight. 2

Requirements: 1. Read e Rebirth of Music by LaMar Boschman, answering all related questions in your course notebook or in a file that can be submitted to your instructor for evaluation at the end of the course. 2. Read e Prophetic Song by LaMar Boschman, answering all related questions in your course notebook or a file that can be submitted to your instructor for evaluation at the end of the course. 3. Complete and correct the self-tests at the end of each lesson. ese may be done with open book, if necessary. 4. View all videos as assigned. Take notes on the teaching of each and include these notes in your course notebook. 5. Earn at least a B on the tests (not including the self-tests). 6. Submit a paper on one of the following topics. is is to be approximately four to six typewritten pages, and is due in the final lesson. a) Do a research project on how music effects people spiritually. Use the research and knowledge of others, as well as doing your own personal experiments. Your research need not follow strict scientific standards. Informal, anecdotal observations are adequate, as long as they are well-thought-out and documented. b) How has your understanding of music changed as a result of your study of this course? What effects has it had on your life? What results have you seen? 3
