Adventist Researchers Report LGBT+ Young Adult Survey Findings The North American Division reported on a study conducted by Journal of Social Work and Christianity where Adventist researchers surveyed 310 Adventist adult millennials on their perceived levels of family acceptance or rejection of their sexual orientation or gender identity during their teen years. According to the study, the Adventist Church has been "challenged to address the reality that there are members who have a lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender sexual orientation or gender identity.... Many parents struggle to reconcile their understanding of biblical teaching and the official position of their church with the sexual orientation of their children." And about 40% say they only update their phone apps and operating system "when it's convenient for them." Random Act of Kindness The story of a woman who purchased an airline ticket for the daughter of a total stranger has gone viral thanks to the Love What Matters Facebook page, and is a perfect example of giving without expecting anything in return. A father and his then two-yearold daughter were checking in at the airline desk when he learned that he would have to purchase a ticket for his daughter in order for her to fly. When he initially purchased the ticket, he was under the impression that since she was under two, she could ride for free. The toddler had recently turned two, and now, on the day of his flight, he was going to have to come up with $749 so his daughter could fly with him. He was extremely distraught. A woman standing nearby, heard the situation, approached the father and quietly spoke with him for a few minutes. The stranger then proceeded to put the entire cost of the ticket on her credit card. "Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me," Matthew 25:45, NKJV.
