JMJ MARY IMMACULATE, MOTHER OF GOD December 8th was the feast day of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary, Mother of God, and our Celestial Mother. When the Angel Gabriel saluted Mary to transmit to her the message of the Heavenly Father, he began with these words: "Hail Mary, full of Grace". For God as for the Angel, the authentic name of Mary is "Grace," grace that invades her whole being. In the Angel's greeting to Mary he recognizes, in Mary's heart, a total victory over sin. Without doubt, in this heart the grace, or life of God, had worked, excluding all stain of sin, liberating her of the inheritance of the original sin. Not even an instant did Mary's soul suffered the effects of Satan: she lived pure and in holiness, under the action of God. Monday:Is 35:1-10; Ps 85:9ab, 10-14; Lk 5:17-26 Tuesday:Zec 2:14-17 or Rv 11:19a; 12:1-6a, 10ab; Jdt 13:18bcde, 19; Lk 1:26-38 or Lk 1:39-47, or any readings from the Common of The Blessed Virgin Mary, nos. 707-712 Wednesday:Is 40:25-31; Ps 103:1-4, 8, 10; Mt 11:28-30 Thursday:Is 41:13-20; Ps 145:1, 9-13ab; Mt 11:11-15 Friday:Is 48:17-19; Ps 1:1-4, 6; Mt 11:16-19 Saturday: Sir 48:1-4, 9-11; Ps 80:2ac, 3b, 15-16, 18-19; Mt 17:9a, 10-13 How did men appeared to the sight of the Almighty God, in the moment of the Annunciation? God saw sinners everywhere. In vain He must had looked in all humanity for persons who would not be contaminated with sin...but there was an exception. In the midst of an immense number of sinners, THE IMMACULATE VIRGIN MARY APPEARED... How beautiful the heart of Mary would shine for her purity, for the cleanliness of her soul, whose only aim was to please her God. In the midst of human beings, sinners, she was the object of divine admiration because of her correspondence to the grace of God, her Creator, her Redeemer and her Sanctifier. "Mother of God and Mother of us all, how beautiful you are in your body and in your spirit, you are indeed a new creation, but we, your sinful sons and daughters, we love you and are proud to be yours, in the words of our Redeemer to St. John at the foot of the Cross: "Woman behold your son" Those words He said, thinking of us all... We want to repeat to you some word of Scripture: "You are the glory of Jerusalem, you, the joy of Israel; you the pride of our race." This beautiful and significant celebration of The Immaculate Conception of Mary marks the great promise God made to the human race, to send a Messiah, a Savior, to free us from sins and to make it possible for us to live in the eternal blessing of Heaven. Mary Immaculate is the Patroness of the Unites States of America and a day of Obligation, which means we should attend Mass. This celebration is very dear to our hearts of Sisters, Missionary Daughters of the Most Pure Virgin Mary and she is our Congregational Patroness, as well. We will pray to her to intercede for us, so she will lead us to Christ, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen. Sister Celia Compoy, MDPVM SPENDING TIME WITH GOD WEEKLY & DAILY DEVOTIONS AT ST.
