P A G E 2 ARE WE THERE YET??? As a child going on trips with my parents I would ask, Are we there yet? Only to be told to just be patient, we would be there soon. Recently, I finished reading through Psalms again and was reminded of a special group of psalms (Psalm 120-134) called Psalms or Songs of Ascents. In Biblical days believers would travel up to Jerusalem for the annual feasts and holy days to worship God. I wonder if their children on these trips would ask, Are we there yet or how much longer? These psalms being sung or talked about would remind them of... Where their help comes. Who their protection is by day and night. How God their creator neither slumbers or sleeps. Why they love and bless and praise the Lord so!! We could say WBC is on a pilgrimage these days as we are seeking and praying for a new pastor to lead us forward. May we as a congregation continue to be patient, to pray and praise our Lord and share His love daily with others while we are on our journey. Psalm 131:3 O Israel (WBC) put your hope and trust in the Lord both now and forever. Be Blessed and Be a Blessing, Pastor Mike

P A G E 3 From the Pastor Search Committee The congregation has shown diligence and patience in praying for the Pastor Search Committee. Please faithfully continue to pray for spiritual discernment as we continue our pastor search. We are in the process of contacting and researching primary pastor candidates who we feel GOD has laid upon our hearts. This is an important part of our process that we do not want to rush through as we prayerfully wait on the Lord s guidance in seeking the pastor that God has chosen for WBC. The committee appreciates the prayers and the support of the church and realizes the importance of keeping unity and oneness in our search. We will keep you updated as we move forward. God Bless each one of you, Chairman, Billy Fowler, 1 Thessalonians 5:17 (Pray without ceasing) WBA ANNUAL MEETING Tuesday, October 17th @ College Acres Baptist Church Starts at 6pm with Dinner...Meeting to Follow If you would like to be a Messenger representing WBC at this conference, please contact the Office at 910-763-3181. WBC can send 10 Messengers, so call soon if you would like to go. Messengers will be voted on at a Special Called Conference on Wednesday, October 11th at 6:15pm in the Chapel. One of the business items to be discussed is the proposed name change to the WBA. The proposal is changing Wilmington Baptist Association to Cape Fear Network of Churches. If you would like a copy of the WBA Constitution & Bylaws, contact the Church Office for a hard copy or we can email you a soft copy.

P A G E 4 Minister of Students WOW, it s September already! We are all back in school and our new sixth grade students and their families have joined the Student Ministry. Now is a great time to re-focus your efforts in using the WBC Youth Student Ministry Prayer Cards that you received at the Valentine Banquet this year. Prayer is a ministry that is not limited to location, accessibility or age. I will be adding a few new names to the list, so now is a great time to jump in and begin praying for our students. Please see me if you would like one of the Student Ministry Prayer Cards. 2 Thessalonians 1:11 Pastor Stuart ATTENTION HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS AND ADULTS! Are you interested in... JAM SESSIONS? If you currently play or have played a musical instrument, please contact Peggy Croom at 910-763-3181 so we can jam together, with hopes of including instruments in future Worship Services!!!

P A G E 5 September is the beginning of a brand new church year! While we may think of January 1st as a time for a fresh start, new opportunities, and a chance to re-evaluate our goals, the new church year offers us the same opportunity to evaluate our service to the Lord, renew our commitment to His work and/or to begin new ministry opportunities. Our Adult Choir, Handbell Choir, Sr. Adult Choir & others are now or soon will be meeting. In addition to rehearsing & preparing for weekly Worship Services, these groups will all be in the Christmas spirit as we prepare to celebrate the birth of our Savior. It is a GREAT time to become a part of the Music/ Worship Ministry! Please pray about your involvement and come join us!! And Christmas, it is right around the corner! So Happy New (Church) Year and Merry Christmas, even if it seems a little bit early! PraiSING You, Peggy www.wrightsborobaptistchurch.org

VOLUME: 64-9 PAGE 6 Children s Ministry I would like to thank everyone that helped to send kids to camp this year. Camp Caraway was truly amazing. We learned great ways to share the gospel with others, how God has a plan for everyone s life and how everything we do can be done for the Glory of God. Be sure to check out our pictures and videos on Facebook. As always, thanks for all your love, prayers and support. Blessings, Leslie http://www.facebook.com/groups/34584332542/
