When Jesus comes into your heart, He makes you new. Yahoo! Praise God! INTRODUCTION!! WOW!! You are now in first grade! A lot of things are new for you. You are in a new building for Sunday School (PowerStation). You have new teachers and friends at church and school. You might have a new backpack, clothes or a Bible. Perhaps having a Quiet Time is new for you. A Quiet Time is when God speaks to you through His Word and you talk to God in prayer. As you begin your Quiet Time, think about meeting with God, your heavenly Father. Having a quiet time is essential. 31 New Paths Read Proverbs 3:5-6 1 NEW! NEW! NEW! You did it!! You completed your first month of Quiet Times! As you enter a new month, trust the Lord to lead your paths. Many of them will be new and exciting. It's a new day in a new month in a new school year. Ask God to help you start a new good habit, like having a quiet time with Him every day.
2 New Every Morning Read Lamentations 3:22-23 It is of the Lord s mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. 28 Knew When New Did you know that God knew you when you were new, before you were born? God told Jeremiah that in Jeremiah 1:5 How cool is that??!! Praise Him for such wonderful planning. Thank God for loving you every day! 3 New Mercy Read yesterday s verses again. How has God shown His compassion, mercy or kindness to you? Thank God for His faithfulness! 29 Brand New Psalm 138:14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made Thank God for making you special!!
26 New Fruit Galatians 5:22-23 says, But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance As you grow in your walk with God your life will produce this fruit. Thank Him for helping you grow. 4 A New View Go outside and look and the trees, flowers, birds, and other things in God s creation. He made all these things for you to enjoy. Praise God for every new thing you see. 27 More New Fruit Read Psalm 1:1-3 5 A New Commandment Read John 13:34 Verse 3 says that someone who follows God s rules bringeth forth his fruit in his season. He will grow to be a godly person. Ask God to help you follow His rules. A new commandment I give you, that ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. Ask God to help you love others as much as He loves you.
6 New Helping Hands Read over yesterday s verse. A good way to show love is to help your mom and dad around the house. Pray about what God would have you do then ask a parent what new tasks you can do. 24 Another New Song Psalm 33:3 says, Sing unto Him a new song, play skillfully with a loud noise. Can you make an instrument with a paper towel tube, an oatmeal tub, a cup or some soda bottles? Praise God with a new noise. 7 A New Teacher Do you remember the name of your new Sunday School group leader (table teacher)? Write his or her name in the blank below and pray for him or her every day. 25 A New Habit You have had several weeks to practice this new habit of having a quiet time with God. Ask God to help you continue with it.
22 The New Man Read Ephesians 4:23-24 This verse says to be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and put on the new man which is holy and righteous like God. Ask God to make you more like Him. 8 Another New Teacher You have another new teacher in Sunday School. He or she is the master teacher, the one who teaches the lesson each week. Pray for him or her as he or she studies God s Word. 23 New Deeds Similar to yesterday s passage, Colossians 3:9-10 says to put off the old man with his deeds and put on the new man. A new person does new things. Ask God to help you do a new deed. 9 And Another New Teacher You may have just started school. What is your school teacher s name? Pray for him or her to teach you well and wisely.
10 New Friends Have you made any new friends at school yet? Try to introduce them to your best friend, Jesus. Invite them to church. Write two of your friends names down and begin praying for them. 20 A New Walk Romans 6:4 says that we also should walk in newness of life. Ask God to help you leave sin behind as you walk with Him. 11 A New Song Read Psalm 96:1 O sing unto the Lord a new song: sing unto the Lord, all the earth. Have you learned a new song in choir or Sunday School? Sing it to the Lord, or make up a new song of your own to praise God. 21 A New Heaven Revelation 21 talks about a new Heaven and a new earth after Satan is defeated. Part of verse 5 says, Behold, I make all things new. Thank God that He has a great new home in heaven waiting for you.
18 A New Mind Read Romans 12:1-2 God says to be transformed (changed) by the renewing of your mind. Do you need a new mindset, or way of thinking? Ask God to help you with that. 12 New Knowledge Read Colossians 1:10...be fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God. Pray you learn something new about God as you read His Word. 19 New Offering Offer God your talents by writing a new poem or story about Him or drawing a picture to praise Him. 13 What s New(s)? The news is called such because it s a report of recent (new) events that are newsworthy (important). The Good News that Jesus died for your sins is definitely worth reporting! Thank God for His love and sacrifice.
14 New Insight A familiar Bible verse can say something new to you. John 3:16 says, For God so loved the world ( ), that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever ( ) believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Put your name in place of the world and whosoever and see how much God really loves you!!! 15 A New Challenge You may not have had memory work in Kindergarten, so now you have a challenge. Ask God to help you memorize the Scripture passages for this month and throughout the coming year. Reminder: Are you praying for the new people in your life? 16 strength... A New Attitude Read Isaiah 40:31...they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their Even first graders get tired. Ask God to help you be strong so you can get through a problem you may be having. 17 A New Attitude Read Psalm 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit with me. Ask God to help you with any attitude adjustment you may need at home.
