COMPETTON RULES Score SheetS Score sheets must be completed, signed and turned in by 7 pm each Wednesday. Use a score sheet corresponding to your team color. Moe s - Yellow Chipotle - Red You must sign your scoresheet as a testimony to its accuracy! f you are out of town or sick, please send your scoresheet with another team member. f this isn t possible, bring it the next time you re at church. f possible, please notify Pastor Andrew that you will be missing an MPACT meeting. Scoring All points will be tabulated on an individual and team basis. AttendAnce ncludes attendance at Berean Baptist Church services and activities. This assumes that you are present when the service/activity begins and concludes. f you attend services elsewhere (while out of town) you can receive half credit by bringing back a copy of their church bulletin. f you are sick and need to stay home from services you can receive half credit by listening to the service online, taking sermon notes, and having them initialed by your parents.
COMPETTON RULES christian Service You can also earn up to an additional 250 points for a variety of service projects you may do such as helping a Senior Saint/widow with chores around their home, volunteering at the church, canvassing your neighborhood with info about the church, etc. You can get credit for two service projects per week. Service must be at least 30 minutes, and you cannot receive any compensation. While you are encouraged to be involved in as many church ministries as possible, points cannot be earned for participation in choir, orchestra, special music, or offertories. tract distribution You can earn 25 points per tract you hand out person-to-person this year for a maximum of 250 points (10 tracts). They must be given directly to a person and not placed on a windshield, etc. Any tract carried by Berean and available in the church lobby is eligible. Sermon notes This is obviously designed to help you listen attentively in church. Record your notes and show them to youth staff for veriication. Youth Staff initials on a score sheet are required to receive credit. You can earn an additional 100 points each week by listening to a sermon cd/mp3/podcast, etc. and taking notes. The sermon must be at least 30 minutes long and you must listen to it in its entirety. You receive points by turning in the sermon notes which include your name, the speaker s name, and the sermon title, along with your weekly scoresheet.
COMPETTON RULES bible memory Verses must be said before 7pm Wednesday night from memory to a youth staff member (including reference) from the King James Version of the Bible. Reciting of verses will end promptly at 7 p.m. Passages may be quoted to any Youth Staff member at their convenience. However, please be considerate of their time and be prepared. Sponsors will honor a no-cubbie-helps policy. The irst passage can be said alone earning only 500 points. However, to earn the 1000 points, the 1st and 2nd passage must be quoted consecutively with no break. For 2000 points the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd must be quoted without a break. Likewise with the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th earning you 3000 points! The maximum number of points available for Memory Passages is 3000 per week. high impact passages You can earn an additional 4,000 points per passage for memorizing any of the block passages below in any order. The passage must be said in its entirety and in accordance with all other memory verse rules. COMPETTON RULES other Each teen can earn a one-time bonus of 500 points by reciting the Books of the Bible in order. visitors One of our main prayer requests for the youth group is always new faces, so there will be a strong emphasis on increasing our involvement in reaching out to the community around us. Specifically we are targeting those who have never been to Berean Baptist before. With that in mind, here s how you can earn even more points: For every irst time teen you bring to a church service, you will receive 1,000 points their irst visit, 2,000 their second and 3,000 their third visit for a possible total of 6,000 points for one guest! f your guest comes to SS during any one of their irst three visits you will receive an automatic 2,000 point bonus. For every guest you bring to a church activity you will receive 1,000 points. A teen is considered a guest if they have never attended a BBC service/activity.
COMPETTON RULES devotions We cannot pretend to know whether or not what you do for Bible study and prayer time is genuine and/or worthwhile (although that is certainly our prayer!), therefore we will set forth this standard for everyone: At least 20 minutes of personal Bible reading/study and prayer time in a day. Each day, set apart a time for personal study of God s Word and communication to Him through prayer. While reading ask yourself these questions: What is this passage talking about? What does this passage mean to me? How can apply the truth from this passage? Pray before you begin that God will show you exactly what He has for you from that passage. Spend time in prayer to God afterwards as well. Praise Him for who He is and what He s done. Give thanks for blessings in your life, and then ask for anything that may be on your heart. You cannot include any school-required or related Bible reading/prayer time towards the mpact requirement. f you would like help in setting up a daily plan for your devotions, please see Pastor Andrew or Mrs. Elisabeth! Daily devotions are worth 300 points per day according to the guidelines set in this booklet. f you do your devotions all seven days, there is a 400 point bonus, giving you a total of 2,500 points.
Frequently ASked questions 9 We are going out of town and won t be here on Wednesday. Can turn my score sheet in the following Wednesday? Yes! 9 left my sermon notes at home in my other Bible, but really took them. Can have at least partial credit? Sorry, but they must be present to count. That s why it s a good idea to let Youth Staff sign off on your notes immediately following a service! 9 Can say the regular passages in any order? No, teens must say the irst passage and continue adding in order. James 1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

MPACT AWARDS The Faithful Friend award will be given to the individual that brings the most guests to Berean during the.m.p.a.c.t. competition. This award is available to all contestants. The mpact Leadership Award will be awarded to the individual that goes beyond the call of duty in terms of their enthusiasm, direction, participation, performance, attitude, and overall testimony in regards to the mpact competition.
