P a g e 4 F l o r i d a G a r d e n s From The President: The Christmas Party was great and the kids had a lot of fun with Santa and their projects they were given and their gifts and snacks. Thank you to all the workers who were there on Friday night to set up and on Saturday morning for the Christmas party. They were: Jake Cummins, Aubrey, Jessica and Sandra Dale, Marian French, Sue Guthrie, Antonio Herrera, Corbin Johnson, Kim Kahant, Casey Ohman, Luke Parker, Hailey Smallwood, and Nick Soley. We also want to thank Captain Kevin Kimberly, Jason Ruffing, the driver, and Fire Fighter Matt Schmitz who came from Fire Station #32 to help lead the parade through the neighborhood and by sounding their sirens so people would know we were headed their way. Thank you to all of you for taking your time to help us have a great day. They also made sure Santa arrived on time at the Clubhouse. A big Thank you to Santa. The kids that rode on the trailer with Santa had a great time and it was truly wonderful to have so many Golf Carts, decorated so beautiful in the parade. Thank you Kim & Robert Kahant for the trailer they prepared for Santa and to Kim Kahant for driving her vehicle pulling the trailer through the neighborhood. Thank you to each and everyone who sent in your 2016 dues/donations. With the money we receive we pay all regular bills, have the Parties for the children, make any repairs that are needed and maintain and make improvements to the Clubhouse as needed. We also present two $1000.00 Scholarships to well deserving Students. Everyone who lives in Florida Gardens is a Member of the Neighborhood. There is a coupon and an envelope to put it in with your dues for the year 2017 in this Newsletter and also we will put the coupon and envelope in the next two letters. If your dues are paid by April 15, 2017, you are eligible to rent the clubhouse at the reduced member rate. The new board was elected at the December meeting. President is Sue Guthrie, Vice President is Spencer Palmer, Secretary is Sandra Dale and Kim Kahant has assumed the position of Treasurer. We will be working very hard to do everything we have to do. Just a reminder, there are a lot of you who are walking your dogs and letting them go in other peoples yards and not cleaning up after your pets, which is your job. We have children and people out there walking and it is not healthy for them to walk into that. Please take your neighbors into consideration and clean up after your pet. February 9 is out next regular meeting and we will have a special speaker Deputy Ralph Doran here to speak to us about the C.O.P. program through the Sheriff s Department and tell us what is involved in getting it started in our neighborhood. Dave Finkle has volunteered to be in charge of the Neighborhood Policing Program and he will need your help. Please come to the meeting and meet Deputy Duran and Dave and sign up to help him to try to protect our neighborhood. March 17, at 6:30, there will be a St. Patrick s Day Pot Luck Dinner at the Clubhouse. For more information please call Sandra Dale at 432-8951.
