Series: 3 Levels of Deliverance (3) Overcoming Giants in the Promised Land

A. Introduction The three levels of freedom and what they represent for us today: 1. Deliverance from Egypt: Freedom from outward slavery, demonic oppression and physical infirmity. 2. Learning God's ways: Freedom from inward slavery and limited mindsets. Discovery of the depths of covenant relationship with God. Inner transformation. Understanding the spirit realm. 3. Inheriting the Promised Land: Overcoming Giants. Freedom of expression. Fulfilling our unique destinies. Great authority to disciple the nations (many express this as the seven mountain mandate).

Deliverance from Egypt was dramatic. Learning God's ways was mind-blowing. The fullness of freedom didn't begin until they inherited the Promised Land. When Israel was in Egypt the nations despised her. When Israel was in the wilderness the nations feared her (Exodus 15:14-16, 23:27). When Israel was in the Promised Land the nations were influenced by her.

Possessing their land enabled Israel to have an expression among the nations. Her unique culture began to disciple other nations. People were free to live out their God-ordained destiny. This level of freedom is true for us today.

Our land of promise includes fulfilling the creative endeavors God has uniquely assigned to each of us. It will include great innovation in business and finance, technology, the creative arts and education. There will be increased authority and revelation to inherit these and other areas of influence that the enemy has held for too long.

Israel progressed from one level of freedom to the next as a whole nation. We are entering a season in the Church in which all three levels of freedom will advance simultaneously. Each stream of revelation must be strongly established so that people can easily progress from initial salvation to the fullness of their God-ordained destinies.

Each level of freedom has a different emphasis. If these emphases are advanced in the wrong way, they can be used to come against the other levels of freedom. God is raising up prophetic and apostolic messengers who see the big picture. They will be entrusted with great authority to bring understanding and clarity about the whole process. This is God's mercy so that we don't end up fighting with each other.

B. Overcoming Giants in the Promised Land 1. The Seven Nations of Canaan - Take the Land Little by Little "When the LORD your God brings you into the land where you are entering to possess it, and clears away many nations before you, the Hittites and the Girgashites and the Amorites and the Canaanites and the Perizzites and the Hivites and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and stronger than you," (Deuteronomy 7:1)

The judgment of the nations of Canaan was a milestone in the fulfillment of God s covenant to Abraham & Sarah. It is central to the establishment of the nation of Israel, the chosen people of God. The promise of a nation of descendants to the childless old man & woman, reflects the faith nature of God. He asks for trust in Himself and His character, before any proof is given. Abraham believed God and righteousness was given him as a free gift. (Gen. 15:6)

God wanted to give the Promised Land to His redemptive people. But for His plan to work, Israel would have to co-labor with Him, and by faith, would have to fight for it, inch by inch. The conquest of the Promised Land is a type or symbolic template of all the promises of God for believers in Christ. Their promised land was physical; our promised land is spiritual. Their battle was against seven demon possessed nations that had to be conquered, little by little.

"The LORD your God will clear away these nations before you little by little; you will not be able to put an end to them quickly, for the wild beasts would grow too numerous for you." (Deuteronomy 7:22) 申命记 7:22Chinese New Version (Simplified) (CNVS) 22 耶和华你的神必把这些国的民, 从你面前渐渐赶出去 ; 你不可以把他们迅速地灭尽, 恐怕田间的野兽多起来害你 "I will drive them out before you little by little, until you become fruitful and take possession of the land." (Exo 23:30) 出埃及 23:30Chinese New Version (Simplified) (CNVS) 30 我要渐渐地把他们从你面前驱逐出去, 等到你的人数增多起来, 承受那地为止

"Seven nations greater and mightier than you" Deuteronomy 7:1

- Our promised land are the sheep of God yet to be brought into the fold. - Our promised land is ultimately moving into God s destiny for us & eventually going to heaven. Application : Our battle - against the demonic powers that stand in the way of our promises being fulfilled. - Our promised land, is our own nature, much of it, still occupied territory, unsanctified by the transforming power of God s Holy Spirit.

We walk forward, trusting God, like Joshua and Caleb, & be among those who inherit promises, step by step, little by little. God is able and willing, to help us overcome those problems that are greater and stronger than we. (Deut. 7:1) Let s trust Him & walk forward, and little by little, we will overcome!!

Background - The 7 Nations of Canaan in Joshua s Time During the time of Joshua the Canaanites dwelt west of the Jordan River. They inhabited the lowlands, the coastal plain from Sidon and Tyre to Gaza, and the Jordan Valley.

Canaan, the Grandson of Noah Canaan was the name of the country where the man Canaan and his descendants settled after the Tower of Babel. Canaan was the grandson of Noah and the fourth and youngest son of Ham. Canaan proved to be wicked and was cursed by Noah, a curse of the lowest sort of servitude. His territory was mentioned in the Book of Genesis: "And Canaan begat Sidon his firstborn, and Heth, And the Jebusite, and the Amorite, and the Girgasite, And the Hivite, and the Arkite, and the Sinite, And the Arvadite, and the Zemarite, and the Hamathite: and afterward were the families of the Canaanites spread abroad. And the border of the Canaanites was from Sidon, as thou comest to Gerar, unto Gaza; as thou goest, unto Sodom, and Gomorrah, and Admah, and Zeboim, even unto Lasha." - Genesis 10:15-19

Gurney says: "It is probable that Canaan lived and died in, as well as gave name to the land of promise. His posterity were numerous: the Sidonians, Tyrians, Hittites, Jebusites, Amorites, Girgashites, Hivites, Arkites, Sinites, Arvadites, Zemarites, Hamathites, Perrizzites, and another tribe that were called Canaanites." NOAH SHEM HAM JAPHETH Deut 7:1-2 Canaan (Gen 10:15-19) Canaanites (7 Nations) Sidon Heth Jebus Emer Gergesus Hivites - Gibeonites Perizzites Hittites Jebusites Amorites Girgashites

These 7 nations were greater and bigger than the Israelites. But God told His people to war & dispossess them, so that they could inherit His land of Promise for them. That is a picture to us!! We must war to dispossess the giants so that we can enter into our Promised Inheritance!

Which is the worse of these 2- giants or grasshoppers? Giant Are a reality. Are external, forces beyond our control. Are dangerous. Grasshoppers Are a mindset. Are internal, in the church! Are deadly. It s not the giants without but the grasshoppers within that kept this entire generation from their highest destiny.

Those who gaze at giants live like grasshoppers. Those who gaze at God kill giants. GOD Giants are external. Grass-hoppers are internal. God is eternal.

Giants remind us of how small and helpless we are. On our own, we can t beat them. They outclass us in every conceivable way. Our Normal mindset & response! RUN HIDE SURRENDER That s the approach the Israelites took thousands of years ago, and it s still the easiest route to take today.

Problem - When we surrender to a giant -we give up more than just a fight. We give up control over our own lives, handing the reins over to Satan himself. When we decide beforehand that we can t win these battles, we forfeit any hope of growth, of overcoming and of breaking free. Choosing not to fight means embracing stagnancy and accepting defeat as a lifestyle.

Challenge - Can you afford to live that way? Israel s 12 spies all walked the same land, all saw the same giants, but only two of them saw a battle they could win.

The key difference isn t what these men saw; it s how they saw it perspectives! -The spies looked at the giants and saw wicked men standing in the way of God s plan. Most of the spies saw the giants and knew there was no way they could win. Numbers 13:33 (NKJV) 33 There we saw the giants [a] (the descendants of Anak came from the giants); and we were like grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight. 民数记 13:33 (CNVS) 33 在那里我们看见了巨人, 就是亚衲人的子孙, 是巨人的后裔 ; 我们看自己好象是蚱蜢, 他们看我们也是这样 Grasshopper mindset!! (Num 13:33)

- Caleb and Joshua looked at the giants and knew there was no way God couldn t win.

Caleb and Joshua knew the answer. They could both look back at the miracles God had performed in their lives in the lives of all of Israel and know, beyond the shadow of a doubt, that God was able to give them every victory, no matter how improbable, unlikely or, yes, even impossible. Giant-slayer mindset!! That s why Caleb could tell his brethren to go up and seize the land, for we are well able to overcome it. That s why he could wander for 40 years, trusting God to make good on His promise. That s why, at 85 years old, he was ready and willing to work with God and toss some giants out of his mountain.

Which is your mindset today? What has been your testimony?

C.Our History since 2012 On 16 Sept, 2012, God gave us 10 prophecies as we celebrated Jubilee!! Prophecy no. 6 speaks of Msia likened to Kadesh Barnea. Are we going into our Promised Land?

By Passover 2015, God said, Go in. We followed God. 2015 was our year of walking the land and redeeming it as God empowered us. Prophecy When the top goes, the Wind will blow. Mt. Kinabalu Quake on 5 th June, 2015!!

God taught us to reverse the 40-year curse over Sabah since 6 th June, 1976!! God led us to break the 70- year shroud of death over our land, giving us a simple strategy of doing a Life March in July 2015..

2016 was Sarawak walking the land..

2017 we all have assignments for our land..for Sabah, and now for Malaysia.. God is empowering us to take on bigger & bigger giants. We must hear His voice, walk with Him & drive out the giants!!

D.Challenge & Summary 3 Levels of Deliverance 1. 3.
