Hunt and Catherine Walker. One of the exercises in the study was to imagine myself in an enormous throne room of the mightiest monarch who ever lived the royal King of Kings, Jesus. Being a practically minded individual I struggled with wrapping my mind around this image. After trying this mental exercise unsuccessfully several times, I decided to try matching my physical posture with the mental image. In other words, I physically knelt down as I imagined being in the throne room. It worked! In that posture I began to picture in my mind the awe and reverence that would be afforded to the mightiest monarch. I also got a sense of my humble lowly position in comparison to the royal King of Kings. Kneeling is not the favorite position of many pray-ers. Legs cramp, feet fall asleep, knees crack. For some the position is simply out of the question. But for those of us who are able to kneel, there are benefits to this posture of prayer. In his article entitled Whatever Happened to Kneeling in the May/June 2005 issue of Pray magazine, Dean Merrill lists these benefits: 1. Kneeling reminds us who s who in the dialogue. Prayer is not a couple of fellows chatting about the Dallas Cowboys. It is a human being coming face to face with his or her Supreme Authority, the ineffable God who is approachable but still very much the One in charge. 2. Kneeling reduces our temptation to make speeches. Sometimes prayer is directed more to the others with whom we are praying than to God. When we are on our knees, oratorical prayers just don t fit the occasion. 3. Kneeling reduces visual distraction. We can t see a whole lot when we re on our knees. Our field of vision is greatly narrowed, keeping our focus on the Person at hand. 4. Kneeling leads to better concentration and better expression. I find the heart of God more quickly and cogently on my knees than in any other posture. He withdrew about a stone's throw beyond them, knelt down and prayed, Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done. (Luke 22:41-42) Jesus was willing to bend His knees in submission to His Father. Are we willing to do the same? Prayer Ministry

From the Pastor What does it take for God to use you at Windsor Spring Baptist Church? That is the question we explored last month and this month. The Bible says in 2 Timothy 2:21 (NLT), If you keep yourself pure, you will be a special utensil for honorable use. Your life will be clean, and you will be ready for the Master to use you for every good work. I believe that most Christians want to be used by God. But we need to understand something first; it isn t the most gifted who get used by God. It isn t the best leader. It isn t the most spiritual person, although that is important. The number one factor is God uses those people who regularly get right with Him. Here are six steps that will put you on the path to getting right with Him. 1. Review every area of your life. Get away with a Bible, a piece of paper, and a pen, and ask God to let you know what s coming between you and Him. Don t rush it. Take your time and write it all down. Nobody will see this. It s between you and God. 2. Repent of every sin. Take responsibility for every sin you ve written down. Don t rationalize them. Don t minimize them. Tell God what you did was a sin and you won t do it anymore. Real repentance isn t apologizing for your sin. It s admitting it, turning away from it, and accepting God s grace for it. 3. Make things right. As you make your list, notice the sins that have impacted other people. Maybe you ve hurt someone or mistreated him. If are able to contact that person, make it right as soon as possible. Don t just apologize either. If you ve stolen from the person, give back what you ve taken. If you ve cheated somebody, repay him. Whatever you have done wrong, make it right with them. 4. Receive God s forgiveness. Now you re ready to receive God s forgiveness. The Bible says you can go boldly to the throne of God and receive grace and mercy. God won t reject you or scold you. He ll give you His grace. That s a promise from His Word. 5. Reveal your faults to a friend. You need to come clean with someone. If you don t come clean with another person, you ll still be forgiven. But coming clean to another person is part of the process God uses to heal us emotionally. The reason we tell someone else is for one reason and one reason only accountability. Find another person that you trust and let them know what you ve done and what steps you took to make it right. 6. Repeat these steps regularly. Confession is like a bath. If you don t take one regularly, you ll start to stink. Make confession a regular habit in your life. I hope that this is helpful for you in your relationship with God and others. God wants to do amazing things in and through you. I hope that you will make these six steps a regular part of your Christian life. See you Sunday, Bible in hand, Pastor Paul ALL ABOARD! Take a thrilling ride across the land down under on the Boomerang Express! We will make our way across Australia, and discover the vastness of God's love and students will learn that no matter where they go or what they do in life-it all comes back to Jesus. Crafts, recreation, music, Bible study, and lots of fun will fill this week with memories as we come together to tell the great news of what God has done and continues to do through His Word. On Wednesday, July 1 st we will be flooding our area neighborhoods with door hangers to let them know about all the upcoming fun of Vacation Bible School. We hope you will put it on your calendar now to be sure and join us. Put on your tennis shoes and bring some bottled water and tell someone about Jesus. Everyone can help! Also if you haven t signed up to help during but would like too please see Toni Horton to get on board. We still have a few spaces left. Our journey begins Sunday, July 12 th -July16 th from 6:00pm-9:00pm and the excitement continues to grow.come be a part of it!
