PAUL AND SILAS DIRECTION Philippi was a major city in Macedonia, a Roman colony. How did God call Paul and Silas to go there? Read Acts 16:9-10. Where should we turn when we need guidance? Read Galatians 5:25. What are some ways God speaks to us and guides us? Read Psalm 119:105 and Acts 2:42. What things should we do when asking God to lead us? Read Proverbs 3:5-6. What will we experience as we pray and trust God? Read Philippians 4:6-7. PRAY Heavenly Father, lead us in Your path as we pray and read Your Word. Fill us with Your peace as we trust in You. Amen.

PAUL AND SILAS CONTENTMENT Why were Paul and Silas in prison had they done something wrong? Read Acts 16:16-23. How would you feel if you obeyed God, then were arrested, beaten, and thrown into a dungeon even though you were innocent? What did Paul and Silas choose to do? Read Acts 16:23-25. How could they sing and praise God in the midst of their suffering? The answer can be found in a letter Paul later wrote to the believers in Philippi. Read Philippians 4:11-13. Paul wrote many letters to encourage Christians in their faith. You can read 13 of them in the Bible from Romans to Philemon. What kind of attitude did he advise people to have? Read 1 Thessalonians 5:15-18. PRAY Dear Lord, give us Your wisdom and strength to meet every challenge in our lives, and fill us with Your joy. Amen.

PAUL AND SILAS SALVATION What happened to set Paul and Silas free, and why didn t they run away? Read Acts 16:26-28. Why do you think the jailer asked to be saved? Read Acts 16:29-31. If someone asked you how to be saved, what would you tell them? Here is what Paul wrote to the believers in Rome. Read Romans 6:23; 5:8; 10:9-10, 13; 8:1, 38-39. We may not be locked in a jail cell, but other things can trap us such as anger, fear, bitterness, hatred, or jealousy. How can we be set free from things like this? Read Matthew 6:12 and John 8:36. Why did God send His Son Jesus to save us? Read Ephesians 1:3-8. PRAY Lord Jesus, thank You for saving us by dying for our sins and rising again. Help us boldly share the Good News with others. Amen.
