JESUS SENDS OUT THE TWELVE DISCIPLES Matthew 10 1 And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power (The power of the Holy Spirit.) against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease. (The Bible tells us 13 And he goeth up into a mountain, and calleth unto him whom he would: and they came unto him. 14 And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach, 15 And to have power to heal sicknesses, and to cast out devils (demons): Mark 3:13-15) (The Bible tells us 7 And he called unto him the twelve, (expanding His ministry) and began to send them forth by two and two; and gave them power over unclean spirits (certain measure of His power, and spirit); 8 And commanded them that they should take nothing for their journey, save a staff only; no scrip, no bread, no money in their purse (A work of faith and still is.): 9 But be shod with sandals; and not put on two coats. 10 And he said unto them, In what place soever ye enter into an house, there abide till ye depart from that place (Don t go from house to house.). 11 And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city (Are in the grave will be brought back to life-are not in hell.). 12 And they went out, and preached that men should repent (Repent and walk in righteousness; otherwise no relationship with Christ.). 13 And they cast out many devils (demons), and anointed with oil many that were sick, and healed them. Mark 6:7-13) 2 Now the names of the twelve apostles are these; The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother; 3 Philip, and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the publican (tax collector); James the son of Alphaeus, and Lebbaeus, whose surname was Thaddaeus (The Bible tells us 42 And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him, he said, Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, A stone (A little pebble.). 43 The day following Jesus would go forth into Galilee, and findeth Philip, and saith unto him, Follow me. 44 Now Philip was of Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter. 45 Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph. 46 And Nathanael said unto him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see. 47 Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, and saith of him, Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile (deceit)! 48 Nathanael saith unto him, Whence knowest thou me? Jesus answered and said unto him, Before

that Philip called thee, when thou wast under the fig tree, I saw thee. 49 Nathanael answered and saith unto him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God; thou art the King of Israel (They knew before the Rabbinic teachings took place that the Son of God meant He was the Messiah; others had a partial knowledge); 50 Jesus answered and said unto him, Because I said unto thee, I saw thee under the fig tree, believest thou? thou shalt see greater things than these. 51 And he saith unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Hereafter ye shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man (Talking about the ultimate Christ will come and all the reality of what will happen). John 1:42-51) 4 Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him (The Bible tells us 21 When Jesus had thus said, he was troubled in spirit, and testified, and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me. 22 Then the disciples looked one on another, doubting of whom he spake. 23 Now there was leaning on Jesus' bosom one of his disciples, whom Jesus loved. 24 Simon Peter therefore beckoned to him, that he should ask who it should be of whom he spake. 25 He then lying on Jesus' breast saith unto him, Lord, who is it? 26 Jesus answered, He it is, to whom I shall give a sop (bread), when I have dipped it. And when he had dipped the sop, he gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon. 27 And after the sop Satan entered into him. Then said Jesus unto him, That thou doest, do quickly (Speaking to Satan here for he was in control of Judas.). John 13:21-27). 5 These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not (He did not come to the Gentiles; they will come later as His children; after He comes back and marries His Bride.): 6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel (The Bible tells us 1 Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed (Isaiah said we tell you the word of God; but who believes it; only to the ones God calls.)? 2 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. 3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we (Israel) (hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not (The people of God, His Israel were blind.). 4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. 5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed (Our sickness and pain. Even though we rejected Him; that sickness that was in us; He healed us by His calling and those in the

future.). 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all (God orchestrated the crucifixion; and all had a part in it.). 7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. 8 He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off (Why? see vs. 5) out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people (Israel) was he stricken. 9 And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth. Isaiah 53:1-9). (The Bible tell us 21 For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps (So don t complain.): 22 Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: 23 Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously: 24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. I Peter 2:21-24) 7 And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. 8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give. (No Charge) 9 Provide neither gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses (And stay in the best places and eat the best.), 10 Nor scrip for your journey, neither two coats, neither shoes, nor yet staves: for the workman is worthy of his meat (food). (The Bible tells us 17 Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine (Respect and take care of them; give the best when they serve you.). 18 For the scripture saith, thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn (grain). And, The labourer is worthy of his reward (wages) (Care for the animal to those that serve you.) I Timothy 5:17-18) 11 And into whatsoever city or town ye shall enter, enquire who in it is worthy; and there abide till ye go thence (Look for the faithful people-they would listen and be obedient to God.) 12 And when ye come into an house, salute it. 13 And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you (If not servants of God-God won t bless them.).

14 And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet (The Bible tells us 7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: 8 Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: 9 Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls (life, soukay). 10 Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you: 11 Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow. 12 Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into. I Peter 1:7-12). 15 Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city. (The Bible tells us 24 But I say unto you, That it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment, than for thee (These people knew about the Law of God and Sodom didn t have knowledge of the Law of God.). 25 At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes (Same today; God calls the humble and lonely). (The commission to His disciples and follow those who would to His church.) 16 Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves (The Bible tells us 5 And Jesus answering them began to say, Take heed lest any man deceive you (Christ worried about deception.): 6 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many (That s the way the Devil works; will say Christ this and that; law done away; nailed to the cross etc. There love is meaningless if we don t fulfill the love of God s law.). 8 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows. 9 But take heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils; and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten: and ye shall be brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them. 10 And the gospel must first be published among all nations. 11 But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost. 12 Now the brother shall betray the brother to death, and the father the son; and

children shall rise up against their parents, and shall cause them to be put to death. 13 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. Mark 13:5-13). (The Bible tells us 11 And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven (Will happen because are rebellious; disobedience.). 12 But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues (House of Worship.), and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake. 13 And it shall turn to you for a testimony (It will turn out for us to give a testimony.). 14 Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer: 15 For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist (Not from own power but by the Holy Spirit.). 16 And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death (Our fate for the end of time; people hate you for being a servant of God.). 17 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake. 18 But there shall not an hair of your head perish. 19 In your patience possess ye your souls (Not impatience.). Luke 21:11-19) 17 But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues (House of worship.); (The Bible tells us 40 And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles, and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go. 41 And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name (They understood the will of God.). 42 And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ. (Even the priests wanted to kill them. I was the temple of God not the temple of the priests. They didn t do it with an attitude of in your face. Obeyed God and trusted Him and went to the temple (official service) and homes afterwards. Acts 5:40-42) 18 And ye shall be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them and the Gentiles (The nations.). (The Bible tells us 1 Now about that time Herod the king stretched forth his hands to vex certain of the church (Story goes back to Jerusalem temporally here.). 2 And he killed James the brother of John with the sword (God watched the killing of James and didn t stop the killing; part of His plan). Acts 12:1-2) 19 But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak (Don t prepare a speech.): for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak (God will inspire you; God is not interested in our ideas.).

20 For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you (The Bible tells us 8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost (power of God), said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel,(Showing respect to the gov t which is a law.) 9 If we this day be examined of the good deed done to the impotent man, by what means he is made whole; (proof) 10 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. Acts 4:8-10). 21 And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death (The Bible tells us 6 For the son dishonoureth the father, the daughter riseth up against her mother, the daughter in law against her mother in law; a man's enemies are the men of his own house. Micah 7:6). 22 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved (Willing to stick to the law of God-obey the Law of God.). 23 But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come (The Bible tells us 28 Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom. Matthew 16:28). (Don t fight them like the whore church-flee if they went after me they will you.) 24 The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord (The Bible tells us 20 Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also. John 15:20) 25 It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household (Don t complain as our Father in heaven.)? 26 Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known (Live in confidence in Christ; forgive for they know not what they do.) (The Bible tells us 1 In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. 2 For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known. 3 Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops. 4 And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body,

and after that have no more that they can do. 5 But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him. 6 Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God? 7 But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows. 8 Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God: 9 But he that denieth me before men shall be denied before the angels of God. Luke 12:1-9). 27 What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops (The Bible tells us 3 Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops. Luke 12:3). 28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell (Lake of fire.) (The Bible tells us 31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. 32 But call to remembrance the former days, in which, after ye were illuminated, ye endured a great fight of afflictions; 33 Partly, whilst ye were made a gazingstock both by reproaches and afflictions; and partly, whilst ye became companions of them that were so used. Hebrews 10:31-33). 29 Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing (a coin)? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father (vs. 28-31 subject fear not; God is fully aware of you.). 30 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered 31 Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows. 32 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven (By obedience of the Law of God-our actions; we bear witness and we are saying we want to be like Him.). 33 But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven (The Bible tells us 26 For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father's, and of the holy angels. Luke 9:26). 34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth (In the future He will.): I came not to send peace, but a sword (False prophets say just the opposite and still say they are following Christ.). (The Bible tells us 51 Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division: 52 For

from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three. 53 The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. Luke 12:51-53) 35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law (Opening our mind to God and it brings war not peace.). 36 And a man's foes (enemies) shall be they of his own household (The Bible tells us 6 For the son dishonoureth the father, the daughter riseth up against her mother, the daughter in law against her mother in law; a man's enemies are the men of his own house. Micah 7:6) 37 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me (Anything we put ahead of Christ is not worthy of Him.). 38 And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me. 39 He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it If that is all you care about it will end. But if you love His law; you will live; He will guide us.). 40 He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me (The Bible tells us 44 Jesus cried and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me. John 12:44). 41 He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward. 42 And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward (How much we love God can be measured by how well we treat others.). MEMORY VERSE And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power (The power of the Holy Spirit.) against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease. MATTHEW 10:1 SABBATH SCHOOL LESSON FOR TOTS

JESUS SENDS OUT THE TWELVE DISCIPLES AND WHEN HE HAD CALLED UNTO HIM HIS TWELVE DICIPLES, HE GAVE THEM POWER (The power of the Holy spirit) AGAINST UNCLEAN SPIRITS, TO CAST THEM OUT, AND TO HEAL ALL MANNER OF SICKNESS AND MANNER OF DISEASE. AND HE (JESUS) GOETH UP INTO A MOUNTAIN, AND CALLETH UNTO HIM WHOM HE WOULD: AND THEY CAME UNTO HIM. AND HE ORDAINED TWELVE (expanding His ministry), THAT THEY SHOULD BE WITH HIM, AND THAT HE MIGHT SEND FORTH TO PREACH, AND TO HAVE POWER TO HEAL SICKNESSES, AND TO CAST OUT DEVELS (DEMONS). Mark 3:13-15 AND COMMANDED THEM THAT THEY SHOULD TAKE NOTHING FOR THEIR JOURNEY, SAVE A STAFF ONLY; NO SCRIP, NO BREAD, NO MONEY IN THEIR PURSE (A WORK OF FAITH AND STILL IS.)

BUT BE SHOD WITH SANDALS; AND NOT PUT ON TWO COATS. AND HE SAID UNTO THEM, IN WHAT PLACE SOEVER YE ENTER INTO AN HOUSE, THERE ABIDE TILL YE DEPART FROM THAT PLACE (Don t go from house to House.) AND WHOSOEVER SHALL NOT RECEIVE YOU, NOR HEAR YOU, WHEN YE DEPART THENCE, SHAKE OFF THE DUST UNDER YOUR FEET FOR A TESTIMONY AGAINST THEM. AND THEY WENT OUT, AND PREACHED THAT MEN SHOULD REPENT (And walk in righteousness; otherwise no relationship with Christ) AND THEY CAST OUT MANY DEVILS (DEMONS), AND ANOINTED WITH OIL THAT WERE SICK AND HEALED THEM. MARK 6:7-13
