Page 8 Sixth Sunday in Ordinary Time Religious Education News FEBRUARY 13-16 NO RE President s Day 17-19 Grades 2-4 OPERATION RICE BOWLS Catholic Relief Services Lenten Sacrificial Giving for Children and Adults In the gospel of Matthew, Jesus explains that whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me. Our faith calls us to reach out in solidarity to our sisters and brothers in need and to be authentic expressions of God s love in our world today. This Lent, Catholic Relief Services invites St. Kilian Church parishioners to participate in OPERATION RICE BOWL as one way to observe this lifelong commitment. We are invited to PRAY with our families and faith community; FAST in solidarity with those who hunger; LEARN about our global community and the challenges of poverty around the world; and GIVE sacrificial contributions to those in need. Cardboard Rice Bowl boxes are in the Hall. Please take one and give what you can through Lent. After Easter, return the boxes to the Parish Office. Donations will be collected and sent to CRS. The total will be published in the bulletin. Please join us in this simple but powerful Lenten practice. On the lookout for future Movie Directors The Religious Education Office would like to find someone willing to write, direct and produce a short video to tell others about our program. We are looking for someone that has an interest in making videos and likes to work with kids and families. We would love to have a teen or young adult s perceptive on this project. Please contact the RE Office if you are interested or have any ideas. (949) 586-4550 or skre@cox.net
