Giorgio Lando CV Born: April 22, 1977, Bassano del Grappa (VI), Italy E-mail: giorgio.lando@gmail.com, giorgio.lando@univaq.it Telefono: +390862432972 Website: www.giorgiolando.it Indirizzo: Dipartimento di Scienze Umane Viale Nizza 14 67100 L AQUILA ITALY AOS: AOC: Metaphysics, Philosophy of Language Philosophy of Logic, Logic Scientific Goals I would like to show that: there are no good reasons to think that there are abstract entities; there are no two entities with the same proper parts; words, sentences and other linguistic items are down-to-earth, concrete entities; existence is not a property, and is a logical notion expressed by the so-called existential quantifier; These theses seemingly concern disparate topics, yet are mutually connected. None of the them is really new, but they happen to be rather unpopular nowadays, and frequently deemed untenable by many philosophers. This is why it is worthwile (and fun) to analyse and defend them. 1

In order to reach these goals and make other people interested in them, I work as an Assistant Professor in Philosophy of Language in the University of L'Aquila in Italy. In the past, I was also very keen on Wittgenstein s Tractatus Logico- Philosophicus, and I spent a lot of time and efforts in interpreting some of its most obscure aspects.
