For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for him! ~ Isaiah 30:18 NIV This morning s sermon: God Has Visited His People Luke 7:11-17 Pastor Glenn Parkinson 3

Order of Worship Gathering God s People Call to Worship, Psalm 40:16-17 Dan Delaney Director of Worship and Music May all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you; may those who love your salvation say continually, Great is the Lord! As for me, I am poor and needy, but the Lord takes thought for me. You are my help and my deliverer; do not delay, O my God! Gathering Song Jesus, What a Friend for Sinners #89 Congregation John Wilbur Chapman and Rowland Hugh Prichard Jesus! What a Friend for sinners! Jesus! Lover of my soul; Friends may fail me, foes assail me, He, my Savior, makes me whole. Jesus! What a Strength in weakness! Let me hide myself in Him; Tempted, tried, and sometimes failing, He, my Strength, my victory wins. Hallelujah! what a Savior! Hallelujah! what a Friend! Saving, helping, keeping, loving, He is with me to the end. Jesus! What a Help in sorrow! While the billows o er me roll, Even when my heart is breaking, He, my Comfort, helps my soul. Jesus! What a Guide and Keeper! While the tempest still is high, Storms about me, night o ertakes me, He, my Pilot hears my cry. 4 Jesus! I do now receive Him, More than all in Him I find, He hath granted me forgiveness, I am His and He is mine.

Prayer of Invocation Drawing Near Responsive Reading, Psalm 103:1-13 Elder Stephen Olsavsky Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy, who satisfies you with good so that your youth is renewed like the eagle s. The Lord works righteousness and justice for all who are oppressed. He made known his ways to Moses, his acts to the people of Israel. The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. He will not always chide, nor will he keep his anger forever. He does not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us. As a father shows compassion to his children, so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear him. This is the Word of the Lord Thanks be to God Pastoral Prayer Pastor Glenn Parkinson 5

Song of Praise What A Beautiful Name Congregation Words and Music by Ben Fielding and Brooke Ligertwood You were the Word at the beginning, One With God the Lord Most High. Your hidden glory in creation, Now revealed in You our Christ. What a beautiful Name it is, What a beautiful Name it is, The Name of Jesus Christ my King. What a beautiful Name it is, Nothing compares to this, What a beautiful Name it is, The Name of Jesus. You didn t want heaven without us, So Jesus, You brought heaven down. My sin was great, Your love was greater, What could separate us now? What a wonderful Name it is... Death could not hold You, the veil tore before You, You silence the boast, of sin and grave. The heavens are roaring, the praise of Your glory, For You are raised to life again. You have no rival, You have no equal, Now and forever, God, You reign. Yours is the Kingdom, Yours is the glory, Yours is the Name, above all names. What a powerful Name it is, Nothing can stand against. What a powerful Name it is, The Name of Jesus. Dedicating Ourselves to God Missions Testimony Bob & Carol Mantell Wycliffe Bible Translators, JAARS, NC Offertory Lord s Prayer Instrumental Music: Ryan Flanigan (BMI) Doxology Hymn # 625 Enjoying God s Fellowship Sermon God Has Visited His People Glenn Parkinson Sermon text: Luke 7:11-17 Pastor Pew Bible Page 863 Sending God s People Sending Song Whom Have I in Heaven But Thee? Congregation Text Fanny Crosby based on Psalm 73 Music by Daniel Delaney, Blayne Chastain Whom have I in Heav n above? Only Thee, my Savior; Whom have I on earth to love? Only Thee, my Savior; Who my wounded heart can heal, who my every sorrow feel, Who the light of joy reveal? Only Thee, my Savior. Who has led me all my days? Only Thou, my Savior; Who deserves my highest praise? Only Thou, my Savior; In my weakness who is strong, who has loved and loved me long, Who should claim my noblest song? Only Thou, my Savior. 8

Who my inmost thoughts can read? Only Thou, my Savior; Who for me doth intercede? Only Thou, my Savior; Who my secret thoughts can know, who such tender mercy show, Who can make me white as snow? Only Thou, my Savior. Sending Song As the Heavens are Higher Congregation Richard Simpkin As the heav ns are higher than the earth, So His ways are higher than the ways of the world, And His thoughts run deeper than the mind of man: Father break into our darkened hearts. Come and drink the river of His word, If you thirst for water that can satisfy; Come and Join the banquet at the Master s feast, Where His love and faithfulness provide. I will trust in You, as You speak to me; I will turn to You as You call my name. As the rain gives life on this arid ground, So Your word will bring Your children home. So Your word will bring Your children home. Come and listen to His gentle voice, For the words He speaks to us are Spirit and life; Come and seek your Savior while He may be found, Sure that Jesus words can never lie. Benediction from Isaiah 43:1 The Prayer Team is available for those who would like prayer, by the choir loft, after the 11:00 service. 9
