Coosa Christian School A ministry of CrossPoint Community Church Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. Romans 8:37 Mission Statement Coosa Christian exists to challenge young people to know Jesus Christ as Lord, to develop a Biblical philosophy of life, to love others as themselves, to become contributing citizens, and to increase academic knowledge and acquire skills necessary to serve others.

Administration Amanda Justus Principal Dear Parents: Your children are your most important possession. It is important that the education they get compliments rather than contradicts the spiritual and moral values you are teaching at home. At CCS, we recognize your awesome responsibility and are committed to helping you. We teach Biblical values and help your children apply them in their everyday experiences. While your student is learning these important truths, he is also getting a quality education. Our experienced teachers not only impart knowledge, but they also have a genuine concern for each student in their care. If you want the best for your student; if you want him to receive spiritual training along with a superior academic program; if you want him to be associated with other young people with similar values; then we invite you to consider CCS. Please call us at 547-1841 for more information on how we can help you provide the proper spiritual foundation for your student. Sincerely, Amanda Justus Principal Coosa Christian School is accredited by Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and by Alabama Independent School Association.

VISION Coosa Christian School s vision is to provide a safe place for those desiring the highest standards in academics, activities, and athletics in which Christ is the foundation. CCS has a goal to equip our students with the character and skills needed to serve others. Our desire is to Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6 VALUES 1. CCS is committed to the highest values spiritually and academically. We strive to encourage our children to excel to their best abilities with the Scripture being the basis of our teaching. We teach a Bible-based, Biblical world view curriculum to solidify a spiritual foundation in each student. 2. CCS is committed to maintaining Christ as the foundation for Education. We will communicate to every student about His love for all and about His character. We believe that Christ is the Lord of all and choose to listen to the calling and leadership He has for CCS. 3. CCS is committed to Integrity. As Christians, we believe we should teach our students to have high moral principles and learn to be responsible. 4. CCS is committed to have a family relationship. Our desire is to strengthen the relationships within our school and church families. Where there is no vision, the people perish... Proverbs 29:18a

Purpose Statement: Biblical Worldview The Godhead We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons Father, Son, and Holy Spiritthese three being identical in essence, equal in power and glory and possessing precisely the same attributes and perfections. The Holy Scriptures We believe the Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, to be the verbally inspired Word of God, written by men under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit in the original manuscripts, and the final authority in faith and life. The Person and Work of Christ We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became a man without ceasing to be God, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit, and born of a virgin, in order that He might reveal God and redeem sinful man. This redemption He accomplished by voluntarily giving Himself as a substitutionary sacrifice for our sins on the cross, thereby satisfying God s righteous judgments against sin. After substantiating the accomplishment of redemption by His bodily resurrection from the grave, He ascended to the right hand of His Father where He intercedes on behalf of those who trust Him. The Person and Work of the Holy Spirit We believe that the Holy Spirit is the Divine Person who convicts the world of sin, that He alone brings new life to those who are spiritually dead, and that He baptizes (or places) all believers into the one true Church, the Body of Christ, that He indwells them permanently, seals them unto the day of redemption, bestows spiritual gifts upon them and fills those who are yielded to Him. The Condition of Man We believe that man was created in the image and the likeness of God in innocence and without sin, but that in Adam s sin the race fell, inherited a sinful nature, became spiritually dead, and alienated from God and now man in and of himself is incapable of remedying his lost and depraved condition. Salvation We believe that salvation is the gift of God s grace, freely bestowed upon all who believe by faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ at Calvary, apart from human meritorious work. All who so trust the Savior are forgiven of their sins and born into the family of God by the regenerating work of the Holy Spirit.

C C S Educating for Eternity HISTORY OF COOSA CHRISTIAN Bro. Phillip Ellen became pastor of Whites Chapel in 1966, later to be called CrossPoint Community Church. He was greatly concerned that public schools had left the Christian principles they were founded upon. Led by the Lord, Bro. Phillip decided to go into the Christian school business. Coosa Christian School came into existence in 1972 as a ministry of White s Chapel Baptist Church under Phillip Ellen. In 1982, Mr. C. Michael Davis became administrator and High School principal of Coosa Christian. Under Bro. Phillip s leadership and Mike Davis guidance, Coosa Christian School was fully accredited in 1994. Today, the school continues our legacy of providing academic excellence based on Biblical principles.
