Hale Malamalama Picnic Lions Stan Torricer, Roger Izuka, and Phil Sharp participated in the annual picnic at Hale Malamalama June 27th. Much fun was had by all. Stan ran the poker game, Roger ran the bean bag toss, and Phil ran the bowling. Since it was a nice day, we had kite flying and soapy bubbles generated by Roger. The Hale clients loved this and they loved watching the birds that Roger fed bread to. Roger s little dog, Princess, was well-received and like by all who held or petted her. We ended up with a grand feed of homemade hamburgers cooked on the grill, French fries, vegetable salad and watermelon. It was perfect timing, the rain came down just at the end so all the wheel chairs and walkers made a bee-line into the home. Our ramp came in very handy and saved much hassle with getting things in and out of the home. I must remember to bring my weed whacker next time because the grass was just a bit too long and the ramp did not work 100%. We hope to convince the administration to have more than one of these picnics during the summer, they are a lot of fun and give the folks there a change of pace. Roger and I already have more ideas for the games and entertainment. Lion Phil 3 of 5 pages
