GOD S NOT WILLING ANY PERISH, BUT ALL SHOULD BELIEVE AND RECEIVE By Sue Whisenhunt We are in the last days, and God wants souls saved, delivered and set free to be His children and servants on this earth. This has been the Father s heart from the day Adam and Eve ate of the fruit of the Tree of Good and Evil, and fell from their glorious state. God had already made a plan, before Adam and Eve were even created, to redeem man from this fallen state and from the Kingdom of Darkness. God knew beforehand that Adam and Eve would fall; and He had already made a plan to redeem mankind from the fall. (Revelation 13:8 and I Peter 1:20) MANKIND IS GOD S HIGHEST CREATION His love for His highest creation, man, is supreme. We see this in the great plan of Redemption. John 3:16-18 reads, For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He who believes in Him is not condemned [never comes under judgement by God], but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he does not believe in the only begotten Son of God. Mankind is God s highest and prized creation. He explains this in Psalm 8:3-8 AMP:.What is man that you are mindful of him?... For You made him a little lower than Elohim-(God, the Creator). You have crowned him with glory and honor. You have made him to have dominion over the works of Your Hands; You have put all things under his feet, all sheep and oxen---- Even the bird of the air, and the fish of the sea that pass through the paths of the seas. Psalm 139:17-18 declares how much Father God, Jesus and 1

Holy Spirit think and care for mankind. How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand. There are many references of what man, God s last creation, means to Him. These tell us our identity in the eyes of God, our Father in heaven. OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM It is a common belief in the Christian community that they are condemned because of their sins, whether a person is saved or not saved. In the scripture above it states clearly that He who believes in Him (Jesus) is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already. It is not our sins that condemn us; but mankind is born into this world in sin because of the trespass of Adam and Eve. Therefore by the offense of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation (Romans 5:18a KJV). Isaiah penned God s thoughts and man s condition as Come now, and let us reason together, says the Lord. Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be like wool. (Isaiah 1:18 AMP) Isaiah is saying, your sins are as scarlet, but when Jesus comes and you receive Him, He will make you white as snow. This speaks of the cleansing power of Jesus. In John 16:7-11 AMP Jesus is saying, However, I am telling you nothing but the truth when I say it is profitable (good, expedient, advantageous) for you that I go away. Because if I do not go away, the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Advocate, Intercessor, Strengthener, Standby) will not come to you [into close fellowship with you]; but if I go away, I will send Him to you [to be in close fellowship with you]. And when He comes, He will convict and convince the world and bring demonstration to it about sin.: About sin, because they do not believe in Me [trust in, rely on, and adhere to 2

Me]; here we see it again, the sin of not believing in Jesus. Was any other sin mentioned? Not believing is the root sin and all other sin wrong words spoken, wrong attitudes and actions are a result of not believing in Him. II Peter 3:9 AMP reads, The Lord does not delay and be tardy or slow about what He promises, according to some people s conception of slowness, but He is longsuffering (extraordinarily patient) toward you, not willing (desiring) that any should perish, but that all should turn to repentance. God, the Father of all creation loves mankind so much that He wants all saved. That is His heart on this matter. He is not willing that any should perish or not be saved. As we, as believers, seek Him and get to know Him, we will learn of his heart towards people. Your Father desires His heart to become your heart. In John 16:27 AMP Jesus stated, For the Father Himself [tenderly] loves you because you have loved Me and have believed that I came out from the Father. The Father is not imputing trespasses and sin against anyone. He is not holding anything against anyone. What Good News! He is not willing that any should perish. This is The Father s heart, He wants all restored into His Kingdom. II Corinthians 5:19 AMP reads, It was God [personally present] in Christ, reconciling and restoring the world to favor with Himself, not counting up and holding against [men] their trespasses [but cancelling them], When Jesus was born in a manger, the angels triumphantly announced His arrival by declaring, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men! He is not holding any ill-will towards mankind. He desires peace and goodwill between Himself and all men. That s Good News. DEAD IN YOUR TRESPASSES Ephesians 2:1-5 AMP says, And you [He made alive], when you were dead (slain) by [your] trespasses and sins. In which at one time you walked 3

[habitually]. You were following the course and fashion of this world [were under the sway of the tendency of this present age], following the prince of the power of the air. [You were obedient to and under the control of] the [demon] spirit that still constantly works in the sons of disobedience [the careless, the rebellious, and the unbelieving, who go against the purposes of God]. Among these we as well as you once lived and conducted ourselves in the passions of our flesh [our behavior governed by our corrupt and sensual nature], obeying the impulses of the flesh and the thoughts of the mind [our cravings dictated by our senses and our dark imaginings]. But God so rich is He in His mercy! Because of and in order to satisfy the great and wonderful and intense love with which He loved us; even when we were dead (slain) by [our own] shortcomings and trespasses, made us alive together with Christ Jesus We are brought into the Kingdom of God, the Kingdom of His dear Son by believing and receiving His sacrifice for us; He took upon Himself all sin and paid the price for that sin. Scripture says, For the wages of sin is death. He did that personally for you and all mankind throughout all the ages...much more they which receive abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ. Romans 5:17b KJV. You must receive by faith what Jesus did for you and receive his gifts He purchased for you. It is stated in Colossians 1:13-14 AMP, that [The Father] has delivered and drawn us to Himself out of the control and the dominion of darkness and has transferred us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, In Whom we have our redemption through His blood,[which means] the forgiveness of our sins. This salvation, so great a salvation should be shouted from the rooftop by those who have believed and received Him. He is such a good God!! God is 4

love and He desires His character and nature within us; His love in us. The Word says, For the love of Christ controls and urges and compels us, because we are of the opinion and conviction that [if] One died for all, then all died; And He died for all, so that all those who live might live no longer to and for themselves, but to and for Him Who died and was raised again for their sake. [II Corinthians 5:14- AMP] Not only did Jesus die for our sins but He rose again from the dead so He could oversee and cause this new covenant to be fulfilled. YOU ARE CHRIST S AMBASSADOR So we are Christ's ambassadors, God making His appeal as it were through us. We [as Christ's personal representatives] beg you for His sake to lay hold of the divine favor [now offered you] and be reconciled to God. For our sake He made Christ [virtually] to be sin Who knew no sin, so that in and through Him we might become [endued with, viewed as being in, and examples of] the righteousness of God [what we ought to be, approved and acceptable and in right relationship with Him, by His goodness]; and committing to us the message or word of reconciliation (of the restoration to favor). [II Corinthians 5:19-20-21 AMP] YOU ARE HIS CO-LABORER We must realize this as one of our responsibilities as His ambassadors. We are co-laborers with The Godhead, Father, Son-Jesus and Holy Spirit for the souls of men. He needs us to plant the seeds and water the seeds, and He gives the increase. I Corinthians 3:6-9, tells us: I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase. So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase. Now he who plants and he who waters are one, and each one will receive his own reward according to 5

his own labor. For we are God s fellow workers; We can see through these scripture, we do have an important part in His Kingdom with and for Him. You need to be equipped to be God s co-laborer; that takes reading His Word daily and knowing how to present this Gospel of love, forgiveness, favor and mercy. It is God s desire for you to know how to lead someone to the Lord. On this subject of leading someone into salvation, there are some basic scriptures you may study to understand and learn this concept better. When you are talking to someone sharing the Gospel, The Good News, or leading someone to the Lord, you do not need to quote scriptures although at times you may share them. Please do not beat people over the head with scriptures. Our responsibility is to share our lives, our victories, as a testimony of His GOODNESS in our lives. We must know this concept of people being lost, due to not believing in His Name and that there is a beautiful and gracious way out; His name is Jesus. The scriptures below will teach you of this concept. After all, these are the last days, and God Himself said there would be a great ingathering of His Church. You are vital in bringing this to fruition as ou co-labor with Holy Spirit. These scriptures are mostly found in the book of Romans and have been known in the past as: The Roman Road #1 - Romans 3:9-12 NKJs What then? Are we better than they? Not at all. For we have previously charged both Jews and Greeks that they are all under sin. As it is written: There is none righteous, no, not one; There is none who understands; There is none who seeks after God. 6

They have all turned aside; They have together become unprofitable; There is none who does good, no, not one. #2 - Romans 3:23 NKJ For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, #3 - Romans 6:23 NKJ For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. #4 - Romans 5:6-9 NKJ For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. #5 - Romans 10:9-10 NKJ That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. #6 - Romans 10:13 NKJ For whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved. #7 - Romans 3:22 NKJ Even the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ to all who and on all who believe,. #8 - John 1:12 NKJ 7

But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become the children of God, to those who believe on name: # 9 - Ephesians 2:8-9 NKJ For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. This free gift of salvation in and through Jesus Christ must be received. One must believe He died for your sins; and was raised from the grave. There is nothing like leading someone through the simple prayer of salvation. SALVATION PRAYER If you do not know Jesus as your Savior and Lord; Simply pray the following prayer in faith and Jesus will be your Lord! Heavenly Father, I come to you in the name of Jesus. Your word says, whoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved and if I shall confess with my mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in my heart that God has raised him from the dead, I shall be saved. You Father, said my salvation would be the result of the Holy Spirit giving me new birth. And that if I would ask, You would fill me with Your Spirit and give me the ability to speak with other tongues. [Romans 8.9-11; Luke 11.13; Acts 2.4] Holy Spirit come into my life and be my comforter, teacher, counselor, advocate, standby and intercessor. Pray through me in other tongues and help me to be like You. I take you at your Word. I confess that Jesus is Lord of my life. And I believe in my heart that God has raised Him from the dead. Thank you for coming into my heart, for giving me Your Holy Spirit as you have promised, and for being Lord in my life. Amen 8
