Worship Team Information Packet

Purpose and Vision To be genuine people who honor the Lord with authentic worship on and off the platform. To be a team of Spirit-filled worship leaders used by the Lord to lead others into God s presense. To protect the atmosphere in which the Spirit of God is invited to save, deliver, heal, and transform lives. To be saturated with the anointing of the Holy Spirit while ministering with excellence and in humility. Spiritual Guidelines Be a born-again believer of Jesus Christ (John 3:7) Live a life worthy of the calling received (Ephesians 4:1) Maintain a life of moral integrity and good character (Romans 12:1-2) Walk in the Spirit (Ephesians 5:18) Be self-controlled and alert (1 Peter 5:8) Be equipped for Spiritual Growth - Make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. (2 Peter 1:5) Vocalist and Musician Guidelines (1 Chronicles 15:22) Vocalists must be able to sing on pitch and display confident stage presence. Musicians should be highly skilled and proficient at reading chord charts. Lead Vocalists must have strong solo potential to vocally lead a song, transition between songs and be led by the Spirit to speak the truth boldly in the power of the Lord. Worship with your tithes and offering and commit to daily prayer and devotion with the Lord. Take time to practice outside of scheduled rehearsals. Receive candid musical direction on an individual and group basis. Be prompt to all scheduled events and rehearsals. Poor attendance and showing up late for rehearsals demonstrate a lack of discipline and respect for the Lord s ministry. Dress Code (2 Chronicles 5:12) Be careful not to bring attention to yourself by your wardrobe. Shorts, spaghetti straps, clingy material (tight tops or bottoms), low-cut blouses, skirts that are shorter than the bottom of the calf, tank or tube tops, too much bling, large writing on shirt, and sleeveless or backless blouses are some examples of clothing that are not acceptable for platform ministry. Eliminate excessive jewelry. Hats should not be worn while ministering from the platform. Shoes should be worn while ministering from the platform. New Applicants and Waiting Period New applicants to the Worship Team and returning applicants who stepped down for an extended period of time from the worship team for whatever reason will be required to return application and commitment form, attend several small group worship team meetings/practices, and meet with the Director of Worship/Leadership Team member to determine the best time to serve on the platform. The Director of Worship reserves the right ot ask team members to step down from the platform at any time and at his/her descretion.

Unity in the Body If there was ever a time that the church needs God s anointing, it s now. And if we hope to embrace that anointed blessing, let each of us strive to make our contribution to the unity of the body of Christ. Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that is may benefit those who listen. Ephesians 4:29 Be completely humble and gentle, be patient, bearing with one another in love. Ephesians 4:2 Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. Ephesians 4:3 Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Ephesians 4:31 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. Ephesians 4:32 Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ. Ephesians 5:21 Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. Colossians 3:13 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Colossians 3:14 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Galatians 5:22 Love your neighbor as yourself. Galatians 5:14 If you keep on biting and devouring each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other. (!) Galatians 5:15 For since there is jealousy and quarreling among you, are you not worldly? Are you not acting like mere men? 1 Corinthians 3:5 The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form on body. 1 Corinthians 12:12 If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 1 Corinthians 13:1 The psalmist declared that unity is associated with His anointing a smbolic application of oil, representing His Holy Spirit. Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to live together in unity! It is like the precious oil on the head, running down on the beard, running down on Aaron s beard, down upon the collar of his robes. (Psalm 133:1-2)
