A Letter from Father. Page 2 October 13, 2013 With many Thanks. So, only one of the ten lepers came back to give glory to God and to say thank you to Jesus. Not an uncommon response. Often we forget to thank the many people who come our way in life and make our lives just a little bit better. In order not to be one of those who fail to recognize members of our parish who do so much to make our parish a better and more united community, we would like to thank those who recently supported our parish in their contribution to the Flower Fund, those who supported the Consolata Mission Day and those who organized our Parish Picnic. So many of you have contributed to the Flower Fund which is used to always keep our church beautiful. We can all appreciate the flowers and other liturgical decorations which add a certain holiness to our worship space. Flowers signify that Jesus is alive and present here in our church, giving us life and vitality in our faith. The Consolata Mission Day was a joyful event which brought many of our parishioners together in the sampling of some delicious food; playing games and listening to some good music. In doing all this, we were able to raise $2,000.00 to support the Missions. Today is the day of our Annual St. Francis de Sales Parish Picnic. Hopefully, you will attend to enjoy some good food and get to know members of our parish. So, we thank all of you who supported these worthwhile parish activities. Yet, these events would never have happened if it weren t for the many parishioners who give of their time and energy to get these events off the ground and working. To the Altar Society who spent their time sitting outside the church collecting donations and took the time to do the mailing to our parishioners - we say thank you. To the many men and women who took the time to set up the Mission Day festival, cook the food, play the music and organize the games; and when it was all over, took everything down and cleaned up - we say thank you. To the organizers of the Parish Picnic, those who will be slaving over the grills, organizing games, setting up all the stuff in the park - we say thank you. Thank you all - the blessing of God s glory. Peace,
