Caribbean Palm Village Resort - Aruba Newsletter Aruba, March 2013 5 th Edition Dear Members; In This Issue The support and encouragement that the Board has been receiving over the past months from our members and guests has been warmly appreciated. We, the Board, clearly recognize that the members have been waiting, in some cases decades, to see that positive changes would be forthcoming. A detail of the activity levels in many areas has been posted on the web site and will be added to as time goes on. We continually try to freshen up the information listings to keep them current and to the point. The effort that has been extended during the initial phase of the renovations by your managers and staff, in this most hectic of times has been exceptional. They not only performed their routine activities, but managed far more in moving furniture from place to place and cleaning up after the extensive remodeling was completed. But, for their dedication, these renovations would never have been available to our members and guests during the High Season. The Board thanks them most highly. The Resort is on the move and we want to keep the momentum that has been generated pushing forward. The concerns that have been so prevalent in the past are waning, as visual and actual advances are made in all aspects of Resort activities. The hours are long, the commitment demanding, but the rewards to you are great. Our attentions are focus on achieving the goals that we set at the outset for excellence. We have had, for lack of a more appropriate phase, some setbacks. That fact notwithstanding, we regrouped, retooled and kept marching. We are anxious to implement the changes to the articles, such as quorum, term limits for the Board, etc., voted on during the July 2011 General Meeting of the Members, but we must wait to receive approval from the Government. Shortly, you will be receiving a postcard with the dates for the Annual General Members Meeting along with ballot and voting instructions. We encourage everyone to participate in this process. This year under our present Articles and By-laws there will be an election to the Board of all offices. The Convocation is scheduled for July 14, 2013 and, if no quorum, the second meeting where no quorum will be required will be July 28, 2013. As we, the members and the Board, continue along, we encourage your input and ideas. It is important that all remember, that the Board is an extension of the CPVR community and it is for you that we serve. This is not a new concept; it is as old as democracy. It was lost for a while, but it lives strong in our attitude, and actions. Note from the Board of directors 1 CPVR Updates.. 2 Notes 2 Picture page. 3 Save the date. 4 Contact Info. 5 Kindest Regards, Your Board of Directors

It has been a while since the last newsletter and we do have information to share with you. So without further delay, here are the updates: An Extraordinary Members Meeting will be taking place on April 7 (quorum required) and April 21, 2013 (no quorum required). Post Cards have been mailed out to all owners with the ballot code. The ballot code is needed to access the convocation and to vote online. If are not able to vote online, you can call Tel: 1(813)322.3667 and request for the information to be mailed to you. Our IT people are working with the main Internet provider on the Island, to improve the Wi-Fi connection at the resort. This is an ongoing process and we are asking for your patience. Finally! The sofa beds in Phase 1 have been replaced with new ones in January of this year. A third beach location has been added! We now provide a beach shuttle, from Sunday through Friday, to Moomba beach, The Pelican Pier and now.eagle BEACH! The same ticket is used to redeem chairs at all 3 locations. Enjoy! Additional security cameras have been installed at the main parking lot, for added security. The holiday season of 2012 was dedicated to giving back to the community and those in need. Our employees collected canned goods and other foods to be donated to less fortunate families. The elderly home at Palisiaweg in San Nicolaas received a generous donation on behalf of the staff and the COOP. Part of the donation was raised by our employees and rest was collected by the COOP. As you may have read in the email sent by the Board on February 2, the Government of Aruba was planning to introduce an Environmental Levy, as per March 1, 2013. A purpose of this levy is to be able to finance and implement projects to protect the environment, which impact the tourism community. This law still needs to pass through Parliament. As per the latest information, the levy has been placed on hold until May 1. The resort will keep you informed of any updates.
