Bala Venkata Subbarayudu, B. : Resident of Peddapasupula, Jammalamadugu Taluk ; s. of Venkata Seshayya ; Agriculturist ; Offered Individual Satyagraha ; Sentenced on 15-1-1941 to four months R.I. and to pay a fine of Rs. 100/-, in default, further one month R.I. ; Confined for five months in the Vellore Central Jail. Balavira Reddy, Alavalapati : Resident of Agadur, Pulivendla Taluk ; s. of Venkata Reddy ; Agriculturist ; Took part in the Quit India Movement ; Suffered one year R.I. from 19-10-1942 in the Alipuram Camp Jail ; Soon after the expiry of the above sentence, was detailed under the D.I.R. from 5-9-1943 to 13-3-1944 in the Vellore and Thanjavur Jails. March 15, 1925, at Chennur, Cuddapah Taluk; s. of Yella Reddy ; Agriculturist ; Joined the Political School at his village in 1940 ; Arrested during the 1942 Quit India Movement is connection with the destruction of the Chennur Crossway. 3

Kothapalli, Pulivendla Taluk; s. of Peda Pulla Reddy ; Agriculturist; Participated in the Individual Satya graham Movement; suffered four months R.I. from 8-1-1941 in the Vellore Central Jail; Detained again during the Quit India Movement from 11-12-1942 to 5-4-1944 in the Vellore and Thanjavur Jails. Bali Reddy, Kristapati : Resident of Jangamreddipalle, Pulivendla Taluk ; s. of Rami Reddy ; Native Doctor ; Took part in the Individual Satyagraha Movement and suffered two months R.I. from 14-3- 1941 in the Vellore Central Jail ; Again participated in the Quit India Movement and was imprisoned for eighteen months from 22-9-1942 in the Alipuram Camp Jail. Basi Reddy, P. : Resident of Chintharamapalli, Pulivendla Taluk ; s. of Narayana ; Agriculturist ; Offered Individual Satyagraha ; Sentenced on 12-3-1941 to undergo two months R.I. and to pay a fine of Rs.50/-, in default, to suffer another term of R.I. for two months ; The fine was remitted ; Imprisoned in the Vellore Central Jail. Changal Raju, Dasaraju : b. July 12, 1923 ; Resident of Venkatapatiraju Kandrika, Rajampet Taluk ; s. of Changal Raju ; Agriculturist ; Participated in the Individual Satyagraha Movement ; Sentenced on 24-2-1941 to four months R.I. with a fine of Rs. 25/-, in default, further one month R.I.; The fine was remitted ; Interned in the Alipuram Camp Jail. Chenchuramaraju, Dasaraju : b. 1892 at Urlagattupadu, Rajampet Taluk ; s. of Narasa Raju ; Agriculturist ; Sentenced on 21-1-1941 to undergo nine months R.I. for raising anti-war slogans ; Imprisoned in the Vellore and ALipuram Jails ; Died in 1960. Chinna Gurumurthy, Draksha : b. January 3, 1914, at Cuddapah ; s. of Gurumurthy ; Agriculturist ; Started a printing press in 1942 ; Printed proscribed literature and distributed it among the people ; His house and the press were raided in November, 1943 and he was arrested ; Convicted under the D.I.R. and sentenced on 31-1-1944 to two years R.I.; Prison term was served in the Vellore and Alipuram Jails. Chinna Narapa Reddy, Katigari : b. May 5, 1910, at Korrapadu, Proddatur Taluk; s. of Pedda Narapa Reddy ; Agriculturist ; Offered Individual Satyagraha and imprisoned for six months from 3-2-1941 in the Alipuram Camp Jail ; Also a fine of Rs. 100/- was levied ; was a Member of the D.C.C. Chinna Obula Reddy, Sareddy : b. October 15, 1926 ; Resident of Agadur, Pulivendla Taluk ; s. of Chinna Obula Reddy ; Agriculturist ; Took part in the Quit India Movement while he was very young; Sentenced on 19-10-1942 to two years imprisonment ; Interned in the Minor Jail, Chingleput. 6

November 11, 1915, at Peddapasupula, Jammalamadugu Taluk ; s. of Chinna Venkata Subba Reddy ; Took up public service after graduation ; Worked in the Congress Party, 1936-41 ; Served as Member, D.C.C.; Led the Individual Satyagraha Movement in 1941 in his Taluk and organized the first District Kisan Conference at Paluru ; Offered Individual Satyagraha at Chennuru ; Sentenced on 28-5- 1941 to three months S.I. and a fine of Rs. 100/-, in default, to undergo further one month S.I. ; Did not pay the fine ; Served the term of imprisonment in the Vellore and Alipuram Jails ; After release from Jail, worked as Sympathiser of the Communist Party of India and finally took its Membership in May 1945 ; Member, Lok Sabha, 1952-57 ; Member, Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council, 1958-62 ; Again elected to the Lok Sabha during the 1962, 1967 and 1971 elections from the Cuddapah constitutency. Gandenna, Bandaru alias Gandrayudu : b. about 1922 ; Resident of Urutur, Kamalapuram Taluk ; s. of Pedda Narayana ; Businessman ; Took part in the Quit India Movement and was convicted under the D.I.R. ; Sentenced on 4-12-1942 to nine months R.I. and interned in the Alipuram Camp Jail ; Soon after expiry of the above sentence, was detained upto 16-12-1943 at Vellore and Thanjavur Jails ; Once again convicted under the D.I.R.; Jailed for six months from 27-3-1944 at Alipuram Camp Jail. Ganga Raju, Chamarti : Resident of Venkatareddy Rachapalli, Rajampet Taluk ; s. of Venkata Raju ; Agriculturist ; Suffered R.I. from 29-8- 1930 to 6-10-1930 in the Vellore Central Jail and also paid a fine of Rs.75/- in connection with the Civil Disobedience Movement. 7

Gangi Reddy, Akepati : Resident of Nagavaram, Rajampet Taluk ; s. of Chenchu Reddy ; Agriculturist ; Suffered six months R.I. from 3-3-1941 to 2-9-1941 in the Alipuram Camp Jail for offering Individual Satyagraha. Gangi Reddy, Lakku : b. about 1914 ; Resident of Nagireddipalli, Cuddapah Taluk ; Agriculturist ; Offered Satyagraha during the 1932 Civil Disobedience Movement but was not arrested ; Arrested during the 1942 Quit India Movement and was remanded for fifteen days ; Taluk Congress President for a number of years. Gangi Reddy, N.P. : Resident of Kothagangareddipalli ; s. of Muni Reddy ; While a student, participated in the Quit India Movement and underwent R.I. from 23-9-1942 to 18-11-1942 in the Alipuram Camp Jail. May 20, 1922, at Kovaramguttapalle, Pulivendla Taluk ; s. of Narasayya ; Teacher ; Passed Hindi Rashtra Bhasha Visarada and Pracharak ; Actively associated with the Quit India Movement and underwent three years R.I. from 12-12-1942 in the Alipuram Camp Jail. Gangisetty, Kpparapu : b. 1914 ; Resident of Venkatapuram, Kamalapuram Taluk ; s. of Venkata Setty ; Businessman ; Offered Satyagraha in 1941 but was not arrested ; Associated with the Quit India Movement and was remanded for 40 days in the Cuddapah Sub-Jail ; Awarded nine months R.I. on 4-12-1942 and served the period in the Alipuram Camp Jail ; Soon after the expiry of the sentence, was detained upto 16-12-1943 under the D.I.R. in the Vellore and Thanjavur Jails. 8
