SIGNS OF THE IBADUR RAHMAN (SERVANTS OF THE GRACIOUS GOD) Address to Lajna Ima illah by Hazrat Khalifatul Masih V (atba), Jalsa Salana UK 2014 Lajna Ima illah Majlis-Shura 2014 National Tarbiyat Sec. Aziza Rahman
IBADUR RAHMAN Ibadur Rahman are believers (momin) who discharge all the responsibilities that Allah Ta ala has described in the Holy Qur an. They are the servants of the Gracious God They fulfill both types of responsibilities; 1. Haquq Allah duty to Allah Ta ala 2. Haququl Abaad - duty to fellow human beings
Huzoor (atba) said: RAHMANIYYAT The term, Ibadur Rahman, draws attention to the fact that through his Rahmaniyyat, Allah Ta'ala has bestowed countless blessings on his creatures. In fact Rahmaniyyat is a great favor from amongst Allah s blessings; it benefits everyone without exception. Allah Ta ala s favors are not only material but spiritual also.
SURA AL FURQAN, V 62-23 Blessed is He Who has made mansions in the heaven and has placed therein a Lamp and a Moon giving light. And He it is Who has made the night and the day, each following the other, for him who desires to remember, or desires to be grateful. (25:62-63)
HUZOOR (ATBA) ASKED: Does not receiving this great favor demand that we show our gratitude by discharging our responsibilities and tread on the right path by becoming Ibadur Rahman?
HOW DO WE BECOME IBADUR RAHMAN? 1. By fulfilling our claim that we are the followers of the Holy Prophet (saw) 2. By fulfilling our pledge to the Promised Messiah (as)
AS FOLLOWERS OF THE HOLY PROPHET (SAW): We must Have a living connection with Allah Ta ala Be obedient to His Messenger, the Holy Prophet (saw) Hold our spiritual life over our worldly life Demonstrate that our pledge to the Promised Messiah (as) is not just verbal but is reflected in our actions Fulfill Haquq Allah and Haququl Abaad in this life
AS FOLLOWERS OF THE PROMISED MESSIAH (AS) We must Avoid all shirk, never associate anything with Allah Ta ala Safeguard ourselves from immorality and indecency Show qualities of kindness, tolerance, humility and selflessness Avoid bad customs Be regular in Salat Perform istighfar and repentance
HUZOOR (ATBA) SAID There is a great need for every Ahmadi to examine him/herself to identify their faults to understand what the Gracious God wants from us.
DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AHMADI MUSLIMS AND ORDINARY MUSLIMS Huzoor (atba) emphasized: There must be a clear difference between the actions and example of an ordinary Muslim and that of an Ahmadi Muslim Ahmadi Muslims have recognized the Imam of the age who is the Light of the time They have pledged to partake of his Light.
LIGHT OF ALLAH Light of Allah Dispels darkness Right distinct from wrong Hearts lit up by Light
THE LIGHT OF THE PROMISED MESSIAH (AS) IS THE LIGHT OF THE HOLY PROPHET (SAW) Huzoor (atba) said: The spiritual light which has been bestowed on us is in actual fact the spiritual light of the Holy Prophet (saw) Holy Qur an states: And among others from among them who have not yet joined them (62:4) Allah Ta ala has affirmed that the advent of the Masih Maoud is the coming of the Holy Prophet (saw) The followers of the Promised Messiah (as) the true successors of the Holy Prophet (saw) are
HUZOOR (ATBA) WARNED There is no excuse for an Ahmadi who does not try to follow the commands of Allah and his Messenger. Anyone who has accepted the Light, but does not bring about a righteous change in themselves and claims not to know the difference between right and wrong because of the pressures of worldly life is going astray. Such a person has accepted the Light only verbally and not with his heart.
IBADUR RAHMAN SUPPLICATE AT NIGHT Allah Ta ala says that servants of the Gracious God are those: [25:65] And who spend the night before their Lord, prostrate and standing,
IBADUR RAHMAN WALK IN HUMILITY Allah Ta ala says: [25:64] And the servants of the Gracious God are those who walk on the earth in a dignified manner, and when the ignorant address them, they say, Peace!
IBADUR RAHMAN SPREAD PEACE Allah Ta ala says: [25:64] And the servants of the Gracious God are those who walk on the earth in a dignified manner, and when the ignorant address them, they say, Peace!
HOW TO AVOID CONFLICTS Ask Allah Ta'ala for His help Prayer and istighfar Recite There is no might, nor power except in Allah Perform Zikre Illahi
PRAYERS TO SAFEGUARD AGAINST CONFLICT O Lord, save us from the hell of ignorance and lack of knowledge. O Lord, save us from the hell of worldliness and materialism. O Lord, save us from the hell of our future generations going astray. O Lord, save us from the hell of disbelief and idolatry. O Lord, save us from the hell of atheism and doubt. O Lord, save us from the hell of willfulness, falsehood and oppression. O Lord, save us from the hell of being distant from Your love and pleasure.
HUZUR (ATBA) WARNED The environment we live in today is responsible for pulling people away from religion, therefore this prayer should also be part of every momin s prayers. No one should assume that he does not possess these faults; therefore I do not need prayers. These prayers are essential to save oneself and one s future generations from these vices, and to understand the fine points of the rights of others and to fulfill them.
IBADUR RAHMAN ARE ALWAYS TRUTHFUL Allah Ta ala says [25:73] And those who bear not false witness, and when they pass by anything vain, they pass on with dignity;
HUZUR (ATBA) SAID The Ibadur Rahman do not bear false witness, they speak the truth and give true testimony under every circumstance. Testifying to the truthfulness of the Imam of the age is only part of being Ibadur Rahman; only when there is no difference between our words and our actions will the requirement be complete. Every child, youth, elder, man or woman must pledge that no matter the circumstances, they will always speak the truth.
IBADUR RAHMAN PASS BY ANYTHING VAIN Allah Ta ala says [25:73] And those who bear not false witness, and when they pass by anything vain, they pass on with dignity;
HUZOOR (ATBA) SAID Ibadur Rahman do not waste time in laghviat, they guard themselves from them and pass by. Laghviat means all those activities that take one away from Allah and which become a hindrance in the total obedience of Allah s commands. Ibadur Rahman spend their days and nights in worship and zikre Illahi. Even while we are occupied in regular daily chores, we should worry about our status in Allah's eyes
HUZOOR (ATBA) SAID We must pay attention to what Allah Ta'ala wants from us. Allah Ta'ala has given us all His commands in the Holy Qur'an and we have to carry those out; we should look for them and know what He has asked us to do and know what we should save ourselves from.
THE HOLY QUR AN Sura al Imran, verse 111 You are the best people raised for the good of mankind; you enjoin what is good and forbid evil and believe in Allah. And if the People of the Book had believed, it would have surely been better for them. Some of them are believers, but most of them are disobedient. (3:111)
WAYS IN WHICH TO IMPROVE OURSELVES Increase our trust in Allah Increase in gratitude to Allah Ta ala Be patient in time of trial Fulfill our promises Safeguard against anger, hatred and rancor Safeguard against lies and false accusations Safeguard against arrogance and pride Good treatment of parents, relatives, neighbors Husbands and wives fulfill each others rights Being active in tarbiyat of children
