SERMON Dr. Andrew Wolfe MUSIC 8:45 & 11:00 AM Dixieland Band MINISTER ON CALL Andrew Wolfe, 871-1309 8:45 & 11:00 AM WESLEY HALL, Rev. Brian Erickson JULY 20 - ATTENDANCE 1286 Total Worship Attendance 697 Traditional 586 Contact 691 Sunday School When I was in the second grade, I fell off of the monkey bars at school and broke my arm. It hurt, but was not really serious! In those days they did not have those lightweight fiberglass casts in your choice of design and color. It was the old fashioned plaster cast hot and heavy. Wearing that cast made it hard for me to do the things I normally did, like cut my meat, throw a ball, write. Luckily, it was temporary. The cast was soon gone and everything was functioning again. One of Paul s favorite images of the church is the Church as the body of Christ. Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it. I Corinthians 12:27. For the body to function as it should, each part has a function, a role to play.the whole body, joined and knit together by every joint with which it is supplied, when each part is working properly, makes bodily growth and upbuilds itself in love Ephesians 4:16. I love that image of the church as an organic living body, with every part joined to every other part with each adding to the health and vitality of the whole. One of the remarkable things about Trinity, is how this church lives that out. This week in VBS there are 150 adults serving and 45 adults gave a week of their vacation to serve with the youth on the SOS mission trip. Some of you visit hospitals, send cards and check on home-bound members. It is remarkable the scope of ministry that happens here week in and week out. This is a living, functioning body of Christ. One of our core values is that we believe that every member is gifted by God and called by God to use those gifts in ministry. Ministry is something that we all share together. We are all servants of Christ. The halls here at Trinity are filled with the noise of hundreds of children this week! Thanks for making that happen. H information for guests & new members Welcome to Trinity United Methodist Church! Our mission is to Gather people to Christ, Grow people in Christ, Go to serve Christ in the world and Glorify Christ.
