Pastor s Corner ~ Centennial Success! I believe our Centennial kick-off Mass celebrated by Bishop McIntyre was a great success as well as the dinner that followed and the picnic the next day. Much gratitude is owed to all those who helped in the Mass celebration (the musicians, lectors, Eucharistic ministers, altar server, ushers). Also, so much is owed to those who helped create the wonderful dinner that followed. Chef Brian Leach and a host of helpers from the Knights of Columbus and Ladies Auxiliary and many young people helped make it a spectacular evening. I know that Bishop McIntyre had seconds and left with a big smile on his face. And on Sunday many of the same people made the picnic a thoroughly enjoyable experience. I really do want to point out how tremendous our young people were at helping out in so many ways. I think many of us worry about the future of our country and our church, but I can tell you that I am proud to entrust our future to the young people of our parish. After all, they are the ones who will be minding me someday in a nursing home hopefully they will remember to wipe the dribble off of my chin! As we begin the celebration of our centennial year, we also greatly anticipate the World Meeting of Families in Philadelphia and the visit of His Holiness, Pope Francis. Beginning this weekend we join other parishes throughout the Archdiocese in praying the official prayer for the World Meeting of Families before each weekend Mass. We pray for the success of each and every family, the family that is our parish, the family that is our Archdiocese, and the family that is the universal Church, as well as the family of humanity. Copies are provided in the missals, but also below if you would like to cut it out and pray this prayer with your own family. World Meeting of Families Prayer God and Father of us all, in Jesus, your Son and our Savior, you have made us your sons and daughters in the family of the Church. May your grace and love help our families in every part of the world be united to one another in fidelity to the Gospel. May the example of the Holy Family, with the aid of your Holy Spirit, guide all families, especially those most troubled, to be homes of communion and prayer and to always seek your truth and live in your love. Peace, Fr. Lange Through Christ our Lord. Amen. Jesus, Mary and Joseph, pray for us. Aid for Friends is requesting donations of frozen meals for members of our community in need! Our freezers are very low. Containers can be found in the back room of the hall in the storage lockers labeled Aid for Friends. Please place meal donations in the freezers also located in the back room of the hall. Thank you to all who continually bring meals. Your generosity is a great blessing to many! For questions or if you re interested in participating in a cook-in, please contact Dana Felder at 484.459.3433 or email at aff@sacredheart.us. 0132 Sacred Heart Parish Sunday, June 14, 2015
