Letter from Rev Dr Martin (Chunky) Young Letter from Rev Dr Martin (Chunky) Young Dear Friends With all that has happened this week in the Constitutional Court and State of the Nation address, there is just so much one could say and I will address this next week. We are thrilled to be able to tell you that the Presbytery voted unanimously to uphold our call to Alistair and Joanne. This truly is good news for all at St Columba s. The next stage is for the call now to be transmitted to the Presbytery of EThekwini which will meet this coming Tuesday evening. A very big thank you must be extended to all in the office for doing an outstanding job in co-ordinating signatures, emails and sms, and to the Elders who managed to canvas at such short notice. Please remember we are now entering the season of Lent and it is a time of reflexion for all. I would also like to wish you all a wonderful Valentine s Day this Sunday and please remember that we will have Messy church on Sunday, 21st February followed by a wonderful bring and share picnic in the park. What does the charity do? The Pantry feeds around forty people every month and tries to ensure each receives a balanced box of grocery items. As all recipients are government pensioners living on under R1200 per month, The Pantry tries to assist them to make ends meet with the high cost of living. 7
