Research (NEW!) As a partner with Roger Dudley and the Institute of Church Ministry, CYE will be featuring research in the area of youth and young adult ministry. Youth & Young Adults in The 2010 Fact Study*: Approximately 42% of the congregations studied report that reading or performing by children or youth is often 3

or always part of their regular Sabbath worship service. This activity also correlates significantly at the.05 level with congregational growth. While 18% of the congregations claim that they give a lot of emphasis to young adult activities or programs, another 35% do not have any such programs. Emphasizing such programs is significantly correlated with congregational growth at the.01 level. Finally, 26% of the congregations give a lot of emphasis to Pathfinder clubs and other youth programs, but, sadly, 44% do not sponsor such activities. *The Institute of Church Ministry represents the Seventhday Adventist Church in North America in the Cooperative Congregational Studies Partnership (CCSP). This organization of more than 30 faith groups conducts studies to determine what factors make strong congregations. The most recent study was conducted in 2010, and the data are just now being analyzed. These come from a total of 347 randomly-selected Adventist congregations scattered throughout the division.
