Legacy Church Myrtle Beach Palmetto Shores Church, April 2007 Pastor Ronny Byrd Based on belief in the Great Commandment (Matt 22:36-40) & the Great Commission (Matt 28:18-20). Palmetto Shores planted a church in their own backyard, Legacy Church, in March 2008 to reach different groups of people. They provided the pastor, John Rea, out of their Church & paid his first year s salary. The youth group has grown from four to 20-25 each week. They are actively engaged in the community & ministry activities of Legacy Church.

Urban Atlanta About ½ live in rented housing 95% of those do not attend church Fastest growing demographic: singles & single parents Median age 36.1 years Almost ½ have a college degree or higher education
Urban Atlanta: How is the church? Many Baptist churches in the perimeter are dying, declining, or just holding their own. 1960 s There were 166 Southern Baptist congregations. Today only 39 still exist; over 76% gone! Population has grown 24% & includes people from 70 countries.
Urban Atlanta: How is SC helping? Victor Baptist Church, Greer Helping Midtown Church, a restart. Adult work crews & youth mission teams did various community projects & yard work. God answered prayers! What could YOU do? neighborhood surveying or help with other work projects to increase community appreciation of the church s presence.
Urban Atlanta: How is SC helping? Lee Road Baptist Church, Taylors Helping Woodland Hills, 2008 restart. Mission team held VBS, did outreach & community canvas; served 500 sandwiches at apartment complexes & provided transportation to VBS. Also painted at the church. What could YOU do? Come alongside Pastor Rusty Couch. The church needs committed workers, finances, & open doors in the community. Come help them reach the world in Atlanta!

Witness to the World: Urban Atlanta Church Planting Partnership Prayer Points Pray That Southern Baptist churches will commit to pray on a daily basis for the lost & unchurched people Inside The Perimeter (ITP). That church planters & church members will engage unreached people in small groups. That the Good News & the truth of Scripture will be sown in every way possible. For harvesting to take place because of the evangelistic strategies being pursued by the Urban Atlanta Church Planting effort.
Collegiate Semester Missions: Partnership between NAMB & the South Carolina Baptist Convention Provide Semester Missionaries - 1) Focus on relationships. 2) Work with Baptist Collegiate Ministries (BCM) on college campuses or with SC Baptist Convention church plants. 3) Perform duties that include: leading Bible studies & Discipleship efforts, planning & coordinating worship music; guiding evangelism/outreach efforts, and helping with mission trips.
