*OFFERING OUR THANKS IN PRAYER God of all, even as you hold us in your constant love, you pour out yourself in the abundance that we experience every day. We are surrounded with beauty, we are fed richly, we reside in security and comfort, especially in comparison to so many of our sisters and brothers around the world. So, in gratitude and generosity, we offer our gifts and selves, that others may sense your love surrounding them as well, in the name and spirit of Jesus, who teaches us to pray *AS JESUS TEACHES Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. Sanctuary Decorations - Carolyn Sidebottom designed, created and displayed the quilt and wall hangings in the sanctuary. The quilt was adapted from a pattern called Poinsettia to represent her husband Chuck s pace maker profession. The center of the quilt symbolizes the natural electrical impulse that begins the heartbeat, and the alternating light and dark patterns in the border represent the heart s pulse. I consider the quilt design to be a celebration of life a gift from God, Carolyn says. The banners were made out of material left over from the quilt and represent the five platonic solids: earth fire, air/wind, water, and universe.
