Meditation & Buddhism Classes These classes offer simple, practical methods to improve the quality of our life and develop inner peace through teachings and meditation. Each class consists of two guided meditations and a teaching to help us solve our daily problems and find the lasting happiness we seek. Beginners are welcome. Class fee: 5. Discover meditation Everyone can learn to meditate; it doesn t require long periods of sitting and silence, but is something we can incorporate into our busy, everyday lives. Stop worrying, start living! Our negative states of mind such as stress and owrry create endless problems for ourselves and others. Learn simple solutions to these problems. Overcoming anger and frustration Anger and frustration afflict us almost everyday, causing problems in our relationships, at home and at work. Learn methods to reduce these through using Buddhist teachings. This class is particularly suitable for beginners. Everyone welcome. Overcoming Stress & Anxiety sat 17 oct 10am - 1pm Fee 10 In modern life, almost everyone experiences some degree of stress and anxiety. By discovering their underlying causes and learning new ways of thinking, we can reduce and eventually overcome these bad habits of mind and replace them with peaceful and happy states of mind instead. Improving Relationships sat 14 nov 10am - 1pm Fee 10 Relationships are very important to us. On this course we will explore how Buddhist meditation has the power to transform our relationships both past and present. By increasing love and respect we can bring meaning and harmony to all of our relationships. Vajrapani Kadampa Buddhist Centre The Centre - Vajrapani Kadampa Buddhist Centre Vajrapani Kadampa Buddhist Centre provides a facility where people can learn about meditation and modern Buddhism. At our centre, located in Huddersfield, we offer a full program suitable for everyone: introductory classes, day courses and in-depth study programs. We also offer drop-in meditation classes across three local areas. The New Kadampa Tradition (NKT) The New Kadampa Tradition was founded in the West by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, a fully accomplished meditation master and internationally renowned teacher of Buddhism. He has written 22 highly acclaimed books and established over 1200 Kadampa Buddhist meditation centres and groups worldwide. The Resident Teacher Gen Kelsang Delek is the Resident Teacher of Madhyamaka KMC as well as Vajrapani KBC. She has been a dedicated disciple of our founder Geshe Kelsang Gyatso for many years and has been studying in the New Kadampa Tradition for over 20 years. Gen Delek is known for the clarity and strength of her teachings, as well as her kind and caring nature. Kelsang Ganden Kelsang Ganden is an inspiring example of a modern Buddhist practitioner who s teachings are light hearted, down to earth and very practical. Ganden teaches the general programmesand half day courses at the Centre.
