Mary McCracken FINANCE UPDATE We are coming to the end of our financial year again and the last date that we can receive monies into the Church accounts for 2017 will be Sunday 31 December. Would Treasurers of our organisations please note that any donations to the Church for heat, light, minibus etc for 2017 should be submitted as soon as possible. Draft Organisation accounts should be submitted to the Church Office by Friday 15th December. Final accounts with small adjustments for bank charges and/or interest should be sent to the Church Office by Friday 5th January together with copies of your bank statements as our external audit is scheduled for 17th and 18th January 2018. AFTERNOON TEA Members of the congregation who are making their own transport arrangements to the Templeton Hotel for Afternoon Tea on Tuesday 12 December are asked to be seated between 2.00pm and 2.15pm. GRIEFSHARE Surviving The Holidays is a stand-alone seminar which will be held on Thursday 30 November, 7.30pm-9-30pm in the Meeting Room. It is aimed to help bereaved people with practical Christmas holiday survival strategies. You will find encouragement, understanding and much needed hope for the holiday season. This evening is open to the community as well as our members. For further information and to book a place please contact Jean Pillar. EGLINTON PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH is hosting a Christmas Tree Festival The Light of the world from Thursday 30th November Sunday 3rd December. The festival will be open to the public ( of all ages) from 4.00pm -10pm each day. The festival will be suitable for access by all. Admission is free and complimentary light refreshments will also be available Donations will be welcome for our ongoing refurbishment fund and also two charities that focus on mental health issues PIPs and the Mater Hospital Psychiatry department. Car parking should be available in the Boys Model School which is right beside us. On the Sunday evening there will be a closing act of worship from 9.00 9.30. This sports equipment will greatly enhance the current range of physical activities on offer within the playgroup enabling a more focused approach to a daily exercise routine for the children. How do I help raise funds? 1. Become a Co-op member. 2. Choose Mulberry Bush Playgroup as your local cause through your Co-op membership account. 3. Shop at the Co-op for branded products and services - remember to swipe your Co-op membership card each time. A BIG THANK-YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT! 24/7 PRAYER AT CHRISTMAS During the first 3 weekends in December we re hosting continuous prayer in the prayer room of the church centre from 9am on Saturday morning to 9am on Sunday morning. The Presbyterian Herald is the monthly magazine of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland. Containing news, features and general information about our Church s work, both at home and overseas, it is a useful way to keep up to date with what is going on in PCI. Why not give someone a subscription for Christmas this year or think about taking a subscription out for yourself. A yearly subscription of 10 issues costs just 10/ 12 through our congregational agent Kate Elliott

NEWS, EVENTS & NOTICES CHRISTMAS APPEAL Thank you for your continued support to the Foodbank for which we are extremely grateful. Since we opened the Foodbank in April 2015 we have fed 7218 people, 3915 adults and 3303 children We start packing the Christmas hampers at the beginning of December, so we are requesting donations of Christmas items over the next six weeks. This will enable the volunteers to complete the packing and be in a position to deliver the hampers 2 weeks before Christmas. We are asking our Carnmoney congregation to donate Shortbread and Sweets this year. Please leave your donations in the trolley at Church or the Permanent Collection Point in Tesco Northcott. Thank you again for your generosity.

NEWS, EVENTS & NOTICES WINTER PICNIC Shepherds Treasure, Sunday 3rd December after morning worship in the Church Centre at Carnmoney for our annual indoor picnic. Bring your own lunch and enjoy some time with other members of our church. We ll provide hot chocolate, baked goods, crafts for kids, games and an interactive experience of the shepherds journey to discover the greatest treasure of all. Plan to come and invite your world! Winter Picnic Help If you can help us set up on the Saturday night or take down on the Sunday evening we d love to hear from you. Also, we need old green or cream curtains and sheets.
