Max- 99, it's simple. Dr. Nobody wants to use the golden bullet and is going to try and steal it from Control and the Chief wants us to prevent him from getting it, right Chief? Chief- No, Max, Dr. Nobody is not going to steal the golden bullet from us, he is manufacturing them and according to our sources is distributing them worldwide.... 99- What are our reliable sources, Chief? Chief- It's really quite clever, 99. Control has set up fronts all over China except in Peking. 99- What kind of fronts? Chief- Dry cleaners. On the plane, Max, 99 and Heimi got into all kinds of trouble. Max- Talk about strong coffee, 99. 99- It's a real killer. Heimi tries a sample of the coffee in 99's cup. Max- Asian, yes, but definitely not Chinese. To their surprise Max, 99 and Heimi are captured by Dr. Nobody himself and taken to his secret hideout. Max is taken into a chamber and strapped to a table. 99 and Heimi follow with Dr. Nobody behind them. Dr. Nobody- This, my friends, is the table of doom. Dr. Nobody and Stone leave the chamber and lock the door behind them. 99- What are we going to do? Heimi- Not much. 99- Why? Heimi- Look! The ceiling is coming down toward us. 99- Heimi, we'll be crushed!! The closer it comes, the faster it comes! Heimi, you're attracting it!!! Stone is leaning against a wall with a handle protruding out of it. He accidently pushes it up. This causes the ceiling to rise instead of fall. Dr. Nobody- What is going on? Dr. Nobody glances at Stone. Dr. Nobody- STONE! Pull that handle up you numbskull!! Stone attempts to pull the handle down. Stone- It's stuck. I can't seem to--- Dr. Nobody- STUPID!!! We had them. Now, due to your idiocy our crusher doesn't work. Dr. Nobody walks over toward the handle. Stone- What did you mean by that word? Dr. Nobody- What word? Stone- Idiocy. Dr. Nobody- Nevermind. Meanwhile with Max, 99 and Heimi. 99- Why do you suppose the ceiling is going up? Max- Does it matter, 99? Unstrap me. 99- Right Max. 99 unstraps Max. Max- Heimi, try and kick the door down.
Heimi takes a run at the door and manages to kick it open. 99- Good work, Heimi. We're saved. Max, 99 and Heimi run out of the crushing room and find themselves in the area that warehouses the golden bullets. Max- 99, let me have another look at those instructions that the Chief gave us. 99 I gave them to you, Max. Max No you didn t. 99 Yes I did, Max. When you asked, could I have those instructions, I reached in to my purse and handed you the Chief s instructions! Max 99, you did not hand me--- Heimi Arguing will not help us rid this world of the evil Dr. Nobody. Max You re right, Heimi. Maybe I better contact the Chief, instead. Heimi You can t. Max Why not? Max Of course, 99, and once the gold is melted they ship the melted gold here and manufacture the golden bullets. 99 No, Max, they must be melting it somewhere in this underground complex. If we can find out where it is and destroy it, it will put an end to the manufacture of golden bullets by Kaos. Max All right Heimi, 99, let s start with the area at the far end. Meanwhile back in the control room of Dr. Nobody. Dr. Nobody manages to get the handle to the crushing room to work properly and pushes the handle down. This causes the ceiling to come down in the crushing room. Dr. Nobody- In a few minutes we will be rid of those pesky control agents. Stone But--- Dr. Nobody No buts. Meanwhile Max, 99, and Heimi make their way to the far area of the warehouse and come to an opening that turns into a long dark tunnel. Max takes out his miniature flashlight, flicks the on/off switch and finds no light coming from his flashlight. Max snaps his fingers. Max Forgot to change the batteries again. 99 Here Max, use mine. 99 hands Max her flashlight which happens to be twice the size of Max s. Max Thank you 99. (As Max receives the flashlight Max s eyes widen) How come your flashlight is bigger than mine? 99 This is a Kaos flashlight from my last case. Max Oh. Kaos sure has bigger equipment. I don t know why Control has to settle for the miniature jobs when Kaos can afford the real thing. Heimi Time is wasting Max. You have now wasted 8 minutes and 23 seconds since leaving the crushing room.
Max Heimi, do you always have to be so precise? Heimi That is what I am programmed for. Max, 99 and Heimi enter the tunnel just as they spot three men in uniform at the other end of the tunnel heading their way. Max Come on. Over here behind those crates. We ll jump them and steal their uniforms. Max, Heimi and 99 hide behind a couple of nearby crates of golden bullets. The three men pass nearby the crates. Max, 99 and Heimi jump the three men from behind and knock them out. They drag them behind the crates and change into their uniforms. Hemi How do I look Max? Max Fine Heimi. Heimi Is that all you have to say to me after all we ve been through? Max What is with you, Heimi? You look fantastic. Is that better? Heimi You re just saying that to make me feel good. Max Heimi this is ridiculous. We ve got to get through that tunnel and see what s at the other end. Heimi I forgive you Max. Max Come on. Max leads Heimi and 99 through the tunnel. The closer they get to the end of the tunnel, the warmer it is getting. 99 Max, I think we are getting close. Max I think you re right 99. They arrive at the end of the tunnel and find a large man made cavern with huge vats filled with what appears to be steaming liquid gold. A set of spiral stairs lead down to what appears to be a constant hustle and bustle of men and women in white uniforms with the Kaos logo imprinted on the back. Small rail cars transport full and empty crates out of the cavern somewhere. 99 Max, this is fantastic. Imagine the amount of gold they must be using to manufacture all of these golden bullets. Max Not to mention their electric bill. 99 What do you mean? Max It must cost a fortune to heat up these giant pots of gold. 99 I doubt if Kaos is paying anyone for electricity. They probably have their own generator. Max You re probably right, 99. 99 Howe are we going to stop all this? Max I think we will need some reinforcements. 99 How are we going to arrange that when we can t even contact the Chief? Max I have a plan. I don t have all of it worked out yet, but do you see that room over there with the electronics? 99 Yes. Max I will sneak into that room and wire those electronics to make a makeshift radio and contact the Chief. 99 Max, how are you going to do that when you don t know anything about electronics? Max That s the part of the plan that I haven t worked out yet. 99 Don t you think it would be better to send Heimi to that room and try to contact the Chief? Max Heimi, are you up to it? Heimi hops down the spiral stairs and continues to hop to the electronics room. Heimi finds the door locked and hops through it shattering the wooden door into pieces. Two Kaos men are in the room and take out their guns. They shoot at Heimi but the bullets ricochet off of Heimi. Heimi grabs the two men and knocks them both together thereby knocking them out. He takes the electronics apart, puts some wires together and grabs the microphone. Meanwhile with Max and 99, they hear a voice over the intercom. Intercom Voice Hemi calling the Chief, Heimi calling the Chief. Intercom Voice #2 Hello, this is the Chief. 99 Oh, no, Max. Not only has Heimi manufactured a radio but one that broadcasts to this entire complex. Intercom Voice Hi Chief. How are things? Intercom Voice #2 Fine, Heimi. Where are you? Intercom Voice I am in the electronics room of the Kaos golden bullet manufacturing complex. Intercom Voice #2 Where s Max and 99? 99 He s going to let everyone know where we are! Meanwhile the hustle and bustle has suddenly stopped as everyone is intent on listening to the conversation. Intercom Voice That s not important now. What is important is that we need reinforcements. Intercom #2 I ll send them immediately but I need to know where to send them. Intercom Voice I ll send the coordinates electronically and you can decode my electronic signal. Intercom Voice #2 All right, Heimi, go ahead, Heimi begins to make beeping noises similar to a Moris Code signal which is heard over the intercom. Intercom Voice That s it Chief. Intercom Voice #2 I ll send them as soon as possible. Intercom Voice Thank you, Chief. Over and out. Just then Dr. Nobody and Stone arrive through the tunnel but do not appear to recognize Max and 99. They continue on down the stairs and make their way towards the electronics room. They arrive but see no sign of Heimi. Dr. Nobody Where did he go? Stone I don t--- Dr. Nobody and Stone are hit from above as Heimi lands on both of them. Max and 99 arrive shortly thereafter. 99 Good work, Heimi! Max You had us worried there for a minute. 99 That was neat trick hanging from the ceiling and then landing on them. What ever made you think of that? Heimi It was nothing. Just another attraction of mine that wasn t very strong. 99 What do you mean, Heimi? Heimi turns around to reveal a chandelier stuck to the side of his head. THE END
