Some people go to all depths to find this meaning of life. There are even those who come to a building called a church in order to meet others who appear to have everything figured out and seem to have life in their favor. Their hope is to have an encounter with an expert to get insight and guidance in their own life. However, looks can be very deceiving. The reality is that everyone has longing inside of us that we can t make sense of. We try to hear what our soul is saying or crying out for. Ultimately the answer is deeper and longer lasting than what we will discover in this world. But that doesn t stop us from pursuing people or items to satisfy our cravings. The truth, however, is that all things will fall short and leave us dissatisfied because our soul longs to find the one it was created for and loves. The problem here is that the people never really get the point! We become completely content with good enough. But when we take these things and delight in them more than we delight in God, we create idols. They begin to demand our time and attention and take our attention away from God. He is the only one who can satisfy us completely. How do we glorify God when we are satisfied in Him? Let s look at Psalm 63 to find an answer. In this passage, we find David yearning for God s presence (vv 1-2) and being satisfied with Him alone (vv 3-5). What David is doing here is using a physical reality as an illustration for a spiritual condition in his heart. My soul thirsts for you my soul faints for you. This is basically saying that David s whole being was longing for God. Even his flesh longed for God. After David realizes how glorious and powerful God is and after he realizes how faithful God has been in his own life, David becomes satisfied. The IV says, My soul will be satisfied as with the richest of foods. In other words, the only time David will find true satisfaction is when he decides to praise God and give Him glory. God is the only one who will truly satisfy us. C.S. Lewis writes: "ur Lord finds our desires not too strong, but too weak. We are half-hearted creatures, fooling about with drink and sex and ambition, when infinite joy is offered to us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in the slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at the sea. We are far too easily pleased." 1 6

This not only causes us to be very intentional about what we teach students, but this limited amount of time also reminds us that we have an even better chance to connect students to God through special events. Here are a few of our most popular events... Discipleow (DW) - This is the camp event of the year! Every winter we challenge our students to grow deeper in their faith while presenting a relevant theme that engages them through worship, teaching, games and team challenges. Covenant - God has called us to live above reproach in our words and actions. Covenant is our fall weekend retreat that helps students understand the importance of being sexually pure in a world that tempts us in the wrong direction. Mission Trips - Mission is at the core of all we do within Crave. Locally, ationally, and Internationally we want our students to look beyond themselves and serve others. Confirmation - We provide a 7 week program that is offered twice a year to equip 8th-12th grade students to take personal ownership of his or her walk with God and with the people in this world. CRAVE FUDATIAL MIISTRIES MISSI wednesday nights Crave Wednesdays // 6:00-7:15PM Wednesday ights Crave University // 9:00-10:45AM Sunday Mornings Discipleship isn t easy. In fact, it is down right messy. However, we feel that Crave is tackling this opportunity head on though Crave University. Through this discipleship program, students are able to take the necessary classes to help prepare them to be fully devoted disciples according to the definition we find in scripture from Christ s example. These classes are the foundational pieces for all believers. But there are countless other topics for students to choose from that will assist in the everyday walk of a believer. The beauty of this program is that you decide based upon where you are in life. LifeGroups // Time and Frequency varies upon each group In your house, where do spend most of your time with family? Probably your kitchen. The biggest commitment we challenge our students to is LifeGroups. Like the kitchen, LifeGroups is where our students really connect with each other at a deeper level. They study together and share with each other their concerns for encouragement. Living a lifestyle of missions We teach our students one of the most important Biblical truths - life is not about you. Life is about loving God and loving others. Four step method approach Local utreach - providing opportunities within the city of Montgomery. Domestic - International construction & community outreach - International evangelism - Frazer UMC local outreaches The church has special events planned throughout the year to let the greater Montgomery know that we care about them. 3 4
