Why Church is Such a Crazy Big Deal to God
Important We are not truly doing authentic Christianity until we are completely immersed in this thing called the church.
Matthew 16 17 Jesus answered and said to him, Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. 18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.
Acts 2 40 And with many other words he testified and exhorted them, saying, Be saved from this perverse generation. 41 Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them.
Hebrews 10:25 Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another--and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
Important If gathering with Christians weekly is not a habit in your spiritual journey, then you are setting yourself up for failure.
Important If you are not immersing yourself in The Church, then you are not doing Christianity the way God has designed it to be.
Important Our plan to help you build community: 1) Sunday Church attendance 2) Weekly Small Group attendance 3) Monthly/weekly ministry involvement
Today Every Member is to be a Minister
Ephesians 4 7 But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ s gift. 8 Therefore He says: When He ascended on high, He led captivity captive, and gave gifts to men.
Ephesians 4 11 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ,
Ephesians 4 Mature 13 till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; 14 that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting,
Ephesians 4 15 but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head Christ 16 from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.

Today Honey, I Shrunk the Church
Important Our small group ministry is essential for your personal growth in Christ and to our health, strength, and growth as a church body.
Acts 2 42 And they continued steadfastly in the apostles doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers. 43 Then fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles.
Acts 2 44 Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common, 45 and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as anyone had need.
Acts 2 46 So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, 47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.
Acts 20:20... I kept back nothing that was helpful, but proclaimed it to you, and taught you publicly and from house to house.
Hebrews 3:13 But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called today, that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.
Important From the very beginning, the Church was something that was meant to be a part of a Christian s daily life. But somehow over the years we have turned it into a weekend event that believers attend a couple times a month maybe. This has caused this thing we call the Church to deteriorate into an anemic organization that is falling short of it s true mission to our generation.
Important Those who see church as a once-a-week activity will always struggle in their walk with the Lord.
Important The point of the church is to build a community of believers who build each other up in their faith and help each other to do life well.
Important New Testament Christianity did not view church as an event on the weekends. Church was considered to be a community of believers who did life together. You will never find solid footing spiritually until you find that type of community through the church.
Important Some people neglect building community through the local church, and then they find themselves very alone when they are in a crisis or a time of need.
Important Small groups serve as a leadership-building machine that strengthens the entire Body of Christ.
Important You don t need to know everyone, but you do need to know someone. And it s important for you to have a handful of friends within this church who know you well enough to know if your are thriving or struggling in your spiritual journey. And they will actually be there to help you.
