Trinity United Church of Christ 27-29 Manchester Street Glen Rock, Pennsylvania 25 th Sunday After Pentecost November 26, 2016 (We will be using the BLUE hymnals) *Those who are able, please stand GREETINGS, ANNOUNCEMENTS, AND PRAYER CONCERNS PRELUDE CALL TO WORSHIP (responsive) Receive with joy the calm and quiet of worship. Come with hope to this celebration of salvation. Surely our God will speak to us here. We come, thirsty for springs of living water. Come, as stewards of God s mysteries. Gather as servants of Jesus Christ. Surely Christ will feed us with living bread. We will be clothed with garments of righteousness. Be ready to receive more than you can ask. Be ready to give more than you thought you had. God will equip us with everything we need. We will learn how to live in God s realm. *OPENING HYMN Rise Up, O Men of God! 380 *INVOCATION (unison) You know everything we need, O Heavenly Parent. Come among us to calm our worries, and help us to put first things first. Remind us of our covenant with you, and show us how to live by it. We want to seek first your realm of righteousness. We intend to lay aside all that blocks our trust in you, for you are more than we can imagine. Feed us here, and clothe us with your truth so we, in turn, may be a blessing to others. Amen. *HYMN OF PRAISE Praise Ye the Lord, the Almighty Praise ye the Lord, the Almighty, the King of creation! O my soul, praise Him, for He is thy health and salvation! Annual Congregational Meeting Sunday, December 3 rd immediately after worship. Agenda will include election of officers and adoption of the 2018 budget. Last year our shut-ins really appreciated the Christmas cards they received from so many people in our congregation. The Caring for Members Committee has decided to follow that same procedure this year. A decorated bag, labeled with each shut-in s name, will be placed on the table in the rear of the sanctuary starting today. You will have until Sunday, December 17 to bring in your Christmas cards for the shut-ins. That day December 17 the Caring for Members Committee will collect the bags and deliver them to each shut-in. The Women of Trinity Christmas Dinner is Wednesday, December 6 th at 6PM. See Ellen Dougherty today for tickets. Adults are $10, children 12 and under are free but require a reservation. The Sunday School s mitten tree is up in the hallway! We are collecting children s gloves, mittens, scarves, ear muffs, small toys, small or medium-sized stuffed animals, and Wetzel s gift cards. Monetary donations may be given to Bob Nicklow to purchase a larger Wetzel s gift card.
