Level 2: RC Rite of Baptism Text Cards 1 Nine text cards Handprint text onto white card stock Trim to 5 ½ inches wide x 7 ½ inches long (or 5 x 7) The width needs to match the width of the Rite of Baptism Picture cards so that the text lines up correctly below the corresponding picture. Trim 1 1.5 inches off the bottom of the text cards, so the footnote is removed. Fold the page in half and tape or glue together to make a front and back for each card. Picture Strip Nine picture cards Tape the picture cards together to form a long strip (like an accordion). Color, so as to ONLY highlight the moment depicted. Folder There are two folders. o One WHITE folder for the Text Cards. Title: Baptism o One WHITE folder for Picture Strip. Title: Baptism, with a drawing of the Baptismal Font Other Notes: There are NO small LOOSE PIECES in Level 2 Rite of Baptism. The separate pieces belong with the Level Three Rite of Baptism. In Level II, the Articles & Gestures Cards are 5.5 inches x 5.5 inches. The drawings should match the drawings used in the Level I Articles and Gesture Cards and the Baptism Wall Chart. Entrusting with the Light of Christ The child s father or one of the godparents lights the candle from the Paschal Candle. Receive the light of Christ. Parents and godparents, this light is entrusted to you to be kept burning brightly. This child of yours has been enlightened by Christ. Walk always as a child of the light. When the Lord comes, may he/she go out to meet Him with all the Saints, in the Kingdom of heaven. Blessing of the Parents The priest makes the sign of the cross over the parents. May almighty God, who gives life on earth and in heaven, bless the parents of this child.
