Journey of Oneness through Chapter 2017 Member Engagement COMMUNITY GATHERING PROCESS

Call to Prayer LEADER O God, you have gifted us with this time and space. ALL Be near to us as we call to you. LEADER Glory to you Three in One. ALL Your mercy endures forever. Amen. ALL There is a sense that we are at the crossroads of a new future linked with our past, yet different from it. There is a sense that something is aching to be born anew. Someone is calling us forward. Someone is leading us onward. We call to each other to enter deeply into the richness of the journey - to walk where there are no paths, to accept the challenge of shared visions, to delight in the demands of the Gospel, to continue asking the questions. Good and Holy Spirit be with us in this work. Amen. Opening Song WE ARE ONE/SOMOS UNO BY MARY PENDERGAST, RSM We are one, one body and one spirit. We are one, one sisterhood of hope. We are one, we sing the song of Mercy and may our dying and rising be for the healing of the whole. Somos uno, un cuerpo y un espiritu. Somos uno, un a hermandad de la esperanza. Somos uno, cantamos misericordia que nuestro morir y resucitar sean para el bien del todo.

Contemplative Silence Reading A READING FROM THE BOOK OF EPHESIANS 4: 1-6 I therefore, the prisoner in the Lord, beg you to lead a life worthy of the calling you have received, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, making every effort to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were summoned to the one hope of your calling, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Creator of all, who is above all and through all and in all. The Word of God. Contemplative Silence Contemplative Dialogue At your tables begin by sharing the wisdom and insights that arose within you when you reflected on the following three questions prior to today s gathering. Who do I, as a Sister of Mercy of the Americas, desire to be for my sisters? Who do I, as a Sister of Mercy of the Americas, desire to be for the world? As we journey towards Oneness how might I embody the mercy of God for a suffering world in more meaningful and impactful ways into the future? Now, inspired by each other s reflections explore together your responses to the following questions. Who do we, as Sisters of Mercy of the Americas, desire to be for one another?

Who do we, as Sisters of Mercy of the Americas, desire to be for the world? As we journey towards Oneness how might we embody the mercy of God for a suffering world in more meaningful and impactful ways into the future? Towards the end of the sharing decide as a group what is most important for leadership and the Institute Chapter Planning Committee to hold and carry forward as we plan the 2017 Institute Chapter as well as walk the path toward greater Oneness. Gathering the Wisdom from Table Reports One person from each table goes to the microphone and shares the table response. Discerning the Wisdom from Table Reports Contemplative Silence Take a few minutes individually with what you heard from the table reports and identify one that you hope your table group will name as most important for leadership and the Institute Chapter Planning Committee to hold and carry forward. Contemplative Dialogue At your tables, from what you heard and reflected on from the table reports, dialogue and come to a consensus about what your table would name as most important for leadership and the Institute Chapter Planning Committee to hold and carry forward.

Gathering the Wisdom of the Dialogue Each table reports to the total group gathered. Break and/or Contemplative Time After a short time the facilitator or designated listener feeds back to the gathered group what she heard as what is most important that will be sent in the response form provided and checks resonance with the group. Summary The facilitator summarizes and closes the day by inviting everyone to sing the closing song: Closing Song WE ARE ONE/SOMOS UNO BY MARY PENDERGAST, RSM We are one, one body and one spirit.
