January 2nd Monday 11:30 AM Trustee Meeting at The Angry Owl This Summer passed so quickly I can hardly believe it! From our Meet the Seminarians Summer Barbeque on a July evening replete with wind, light rain and storm clouds to the Summer Olympics followed by the Paralympics in Rio and now a very intense presidential election to say the least; and in the middle of this uncertainty and decisions about our collective national future we celebrated Mass honoring the first anniversary of the canonization of our patron Saint Junipero Serra who was also the subject of intense criticism and support prior to his Sainthood. Sound familiar? After Mass we enjoyed a well presented and exquisite dinner while hosting some of our priests and seminarians at the Greenery. Peggy Navar coordinated the event and we are most grateful for her expertise in making this such a memorable moment from the table decorum to the ambiance of the evening. Thank you Peggy for all of your hard work! We recently mailed our Serra Club Annual Appeal. Your financial support is greatly appreciated. Please mark your calendar for our annual Christmas Party scheduled for Thursday December 8 th, 2016 at the El Paso Club... and finally with mixed emotions of grief and joy please join me in your prayerful intentions for the repose of the soul of Sharon O Malley who joined her husband Robert E. O Malley, one of our founding Fathers, in eternal life on September 17, 2016. Eternal rest grant unto them O Lord and let the perpetual light shine upon them and may the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen! Yours in Christ Dorothy Schatzman
