Bach For the Beauty of the Earth arr. Nathan Daughtrey Jeremy Johnston, marimba Hymn God Is Here abbott s leigh 2
We gather in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen Confession and Forgiveness It is not our past which keeps us from God, for that is behind us. It is not our present, for God is with us. It is not our future, for we are held tight in God s hands. There is absolutely nothing that can separate us from God. Whatever sins we have committed, God s forgiveness and love will take them away forever. Let us pray together: Too often Lord we choose to worship power when we could serve others in humility. We toss and turn at night over things we have no control, when we could turn them over to you. Forgive us for believing that our sins are more powerful than your mercy, O Grace of the world. Your Spirit carries the whispers of our hearts to you, and we are embraced with hope, and blessed with your love through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Silence God s love in Jesus Christ binds us to the family of God forever. There is nothing in this world or beyond which will keep us from being God s beloved children. Thanks be to God. Amen 3

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. And also with you. Prayer of the Day Lord God, we come to worship with open hands and open hearts desiring to draw from your deep fountain of grace and love. In this time tethered to your presence, may we be filled with humility, compassion, and freedom to go out and serve our neighbor in need. In your name we pray. Amen First Lesson Isaiah 1:16-17 Wash yourselves; make yourselves clean; remove the evil of your doings from before my eyes; cease to do evil, learn to do good; seek justice, rescue the oppressed, defend the orphan, plead for the widow. Second Lesson Galatians 5:13-14 For you were called to freedom, brothers and sisters; only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for self-indulgence, but through love become slaves to one another. For the whole law is summed up in a single commandment, You shall love your neighbor as yourself. Anthem How Lovely Are Thy Dwellings Samuel Liddle Kristi Ames, soloist Holy Gospel Matthew 9:35-38 Glory to you, O Lord. Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and proclaiming the good news of the kingdom, and curing every disease and every sickness. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore ask the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest. Praise to you, O Christ. 5
Sacrament of Holy Baptism 10:30 Amelia Grace Gjerde Daughter of Noel and Kenneth Gjerde Apostles Creed I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell. On the third day he rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen Hymn O Master, Let Me Walk with You maryton Continued on next page 6
