In last weekend s Gospel, Jesus says to God the Father, I glorified you on earth by accomplishing the work that you gave me to do. At our Baptism and Confirmation, we made a commitment to glorify the Risen Lord Jesus by accomplishing His work through His Church here on earth. Our goal is that Every Parish Member will have 1 Ministry. Each one of us should find a way to use our talents and time to build up Jesus Church and our parish. Join an existing team or come up with an idea for a Ministry Team (get Deacon Joe s OK ) and go with it. We are not asked to go it alone. These are some of the teams at the parish that could use your talents and time: Social Team This team would plan, prepare light refreshments (i.e. cookies, coffee, punch), set up for, serve, and clean up after the several parish socials that occur during the year. If you are willing to serve on this team, sign-up sheets are in the gathering area or you may call the office to have your name added to the list. This is a great entrylevel position for folks looking for a way to get involved in the parish and to meet other folks in the parish. Contact parish office. Summer Lunch Program Our parish was one of the founding congregations of the Schenectady Inner-City Ministries 50 years ago. S.I.C.M. does together what individual congregations could not do. One of its primary goals has been to work to end Hunger/Food Insecurity in our county. The S.I.C.M. Summer Lunch program provides lunches at various locations to hundreds of our area young folks. Each member of this team would call about 6 parish families a week to touch base and see how they are doing. Over the course of a month a team member would contact about 2 dozen parish families. If we get a lot of volunteers the work load would be a lot less. This is a great team for folks who are homebound. Contact parish office.
