Foundation of the Faithful Pakistan Dear Mr.Younas Shahid Sectary General Foundation of the Faithful, USA Subject: Ramadan/Food Package 2013 (1434 H) A project titled Ramadan/Food Package 2013 (1434 H) is attached with this letter. This project aims to provide relief and to share joy and happiness of Ramadan and Eid Ul Fitar with deprived and underprivileged people in Pakistan. We request FOF USA to provide adequate funds for 2925 food packages and 24 Iftar Dinners. The cost of one food package is estimated at PKR 2000 (USD 20.2) while total cost of this project including 24 Iftar Dinners is PKR 6,450,000 (USD 65151). Introduction: Foundation of the Faithful, Pakistan Foundation of the Faithful, Pakistan is a registered welfare community based organization working for the uplift of community through community participation. Specific areas of involvement are education, health, emergency relief in war and natural disaster, prisoner relief and general welfare with special focus on rural education. Foundation of the Faithful Pakistan has been providing relief and welfare services in Pakistan for the last many years. By providing relief, we mean developing a pool of resources which have a continuous flows to fulfill the immediate and basic needs of the deprived or disaster-stricken People. Foundation of the Faithful, Pakistan Response to Situation: The situation presented a stiff challenge for organization like Foundation of the Faithful, Pakistan. However, an apt and quick response from Foundation of the Faithful, Pakistan made sure to give relief and share happiness among deprived and underprivileged people during this holy month of Ramadan. Need of the Project: Ramadan is a special time of year--- a time when Muslims around the world take a step back from their daily routines and focus on community, charity, fasting and prayer. Hazrat Abdullah Ibn Abbas described that the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) was the most generous of people, and even more so during the month of Ramadan. According to The Holy Quran Those who spend their wealth by night and day, in secret and in public, shall have their reward with their Lord. On them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve (Al-Quraan 2:274) Every year Foundation of the Faithful provides food packages and Iftar dinners to widows, orphans and poor families in the month of Ramadan Ul Mubarak. This project will be implemented in all regions of Pakistan. Food packages will be distributed among the poor, deserving and miserable people.
Implementation Strategy: A survey has been conducted by Foundation of the Faithful, Pakistan (FOF) and Al- Khidmat Foundation, Pakistan (AKF) teams to identify most unprivileged people. AKF units will implement and supervise this project with FOF Coordination. A Relief Card will be issued per target family, well before the distribution date. Relief Card will include complete information about the beneficiary in Urdu. (English version attached). Food items will be purchased as per given specifications, following procurement policy of (FOF). Food will be packed in bags printed with donor organization s LOGO. Food items will be made ready at the distribution point well before distribution ceremony. Banners and other publicity material will be used during distribution process. Iftar dinners will be arranged in Masajids or at suitable places. Reports (with photos) and videos will be sent to partner organization as per agreed reporting schedule.
