IACC Sunday School Curriculum Grade 3 Detailed syllabus GRADE 3 : SEERAH SYLLABUS September 10 t h : First day for Sunday school, meet the student and give the books. Two Special Cities Makkah & Madinah. The birth of Islam and then homeland of Rasulullah (SAW). The location and the historical for the two Cities and there surround them. September 17 t h : The Kuffar try to kill Rasulullah (SAW), how they planed it and Angel Jibril (AS) informing Rasulullah (SAW). And how Allah (SWT) want him to leave for Yathrib now. How He did follow the orders and quietly left Makkah at night. September 24 t h : The Hijrah. The Muslims were not safe in Makkah. The Muslims in Madinah invited Rasulullah (SAW) to live in their city. The Hijrah is the migration of the Muslims from Makkah to Madinah. The Islamic calendar begins with the Hijrah. October 1 s t : Masjid Ul-Quba & Masjid Un-Nabawi which one was built first. How Rasulullah (SAW) helped build the Masjid Al-Nabawi the first meeting Page 1 of 9

Rasulullah (SAW) made the Muhajirun and the Ansar on community. The Ansar gave shelter and help to the Muhajirun, Islam brings together people of different backgrounds. The fellowship of the Nasar and the Muhajirun is called Muwwakhat. October 15 t h : Building Unity and Harmony. Rasulullah (SAW) brought harmony to Madinah (to live peacefully people must respect on another). Prophet Muhammad (SAW) signed on an agreement with the Jewish tribes of Madinah and the agreement called Charter of Madinah October 22 n d : The Kuffar Become Angry. Allah (SWT) protected Rasulullah (SAW) and helped him reach Madinah. How the leaders of the kuffar became very angry when they found that Rasulullah (SAW) had escaped safely. Munafiqun people who said they were Muslims but didn t believe in Allah (SWT) and His Messenger. October 29 t h : Badr the first battle between the Kuffer and the Muslims. The Kuffar had more men and better weapons but the Muslims won the battle because they Page 2 of 9

IACC Sunday School Curriculum Grade 3 had faith in Allah s (SWT) help. Allah (SWT) sent angels to assist the Muslims. Rasulullah (SAW) treated the prisoners of war with justice and compassion. First semester project assigned. November 5 t h :First Quiz Hand out the reviews sheet The Kuffar decided to fight the Muslims once more. The second battle between the Kuffar and the Muslims took place at Uhud. Some Muslims disobeyed Rasulullah (SAW) and left an important hill unguarded. How the Kuffar came from behind a hill to attack the Muslims. For that the Muslims suffered many losses because the disobeyed Rasulullah (SAW) November 12 t h : Asking for advice. Rasulullah (SAW) consulted the Muslims when planning for the battle of the Ditch. Salman Al- Faris (RAU) said to dig a ditch around Madinah. The Muslims defended themselves from behind a ditch. The army of the Kuffar of Makkah couldn t cross the ditch. After a month of siege Allah (SWT) sent strong winds to scatter the enemy. November 19 t h : A Community of peace. The Muslims wanted to make Umrah, but the Kuffar didn t let them enter Makkah. Rasulullah (SAW) didn t want a war, He agreed to sign the peace agreement with the Kuffar. This treaty is called the Treaty of Hudaibiyah. Some Muslims were unhappy with the agreement, but Rasulullah (SAW) advised them to be patient. Allah Page 3 of 9

November 26 t h : Thanksgiving Holiday December 3 r d :Review for the mid team Exam Go over all the questions. December 10 t h :Review for the mid team Exam Go over all the questions. December 17 t h : Midterm Exam. December 24 t h : Winter break holiday January 7 t h : Rasulullah (SAW) writes to the Kings. Prophet Muhammad (SAW) was sent as the last Prophet and Messenger for everyone in the world. Rasulullah (SAW) wrote letters to the rules of the world and invited them to accept Islam. Prophet Muhammad (SAW) sent his Sahabah to reach the Arab tribes about Islam. January 14 t h : Page 4 of 9

IACC Sunday School Curriculum Grade 3 The Kaaba Becomes Allah s (SWT) house again. The kuffar broke the Treaty of Hudaibiyah. The Muslims marched to Makkah, the Kuffar were powerless to fight the large army. Rasulullah (SAW) and Ali (RWA) removed all the idols from the Ka bah. Rasulullah (SAW) forgave all his enemies. January 21 s t : The Makkans Accept Islam. The Makkans realized that Islam was a religion of peace and justice. They were moved by the justice and forgiveness of Rasulullah (SAW). They all accepted Islam. A Star of Guidance the Forgiveness of Prophet Yusuf (AS). January 28 t h : Rasulullah (SAW) Makes His Last Hajj together with thousands of Muslims. Rasulullah (SAW) delivered his farewell speech on the Jabal Ar- Rahmah. The farewell speech was a message of equality, unity and justice. February 4 t h : Rasulullah (SAW) leaves this life. Rasulullah (SAW) had a fever and became too weak to lead the Salat. Prophet Muhammad (SAW) passed away at the age of 63. Believers are encouraged to do good deeds and to give money, clothes and time to help the unfortunate. February 11 t h :Parent s and Teacher conferences. Student Holiday. Page 5 of 9

IACC Sunday School Curriculum Grade 3 February 18 t h : Our Prophet (SAW) His work lives on. The Muslims were upset when they heard the news of Rasulullah death. Abu Bakr (RAA) become the leader of the Muslim community. All Muslim s have the responsibility to share Islam with other s. February 25 t h : The Sunnah of Rasulullah (SAW) the best model. The Sunnah contains information about the teachings of Rasulullah (SAW). The Sunnah is the second most important source for guidance. The Hadith are the sayings and actions of Rasulullah (SAW) written down. We read the Hadith so we can know how to practice Islam correctly. Second semester project assigned. March 4 t h : A Day with Rasulullah (SAW). Rasulullah (SAW) led a busy life. All his activities were centered on Salah. Rasulullah (SAW) spent his day attending to his family s needs and the needs of the Muslim community. Rasulullah (SAW) was a problem-solver. March 11 t h :IACC Spring Break Holidays. IACC Sunday School Curriculum Grade 3 Salawat our love for Rasulullah (SAW). Allah (SWT) commands us to send Salawat on the Prophet (SAW). Sending Salawat is an expression of our love and respect for Rasulullah (SAW). Those who do not send Salawat are stingy. Allah (SWT) sends His blessing to those who make Salawat. March 25 t h : The Sahabhah s love and respect for Rasulullah (SAW are part of every Muslim s faith. The Sahabah are models for us to follow in our love for Rasulullah (SAW). The Sahabah displayed their love for Rasulullah (SAW) in their commitment to follow his guidance. Our love for Rasulullah (SAW) requires us to make sacrifices for the cause of Islam. April 1 s t : Let s make Rasulullah (SAW) happy. Pleasing Rasulullah (SAW) is part of showing our love and respect towards him. The Sahabah did deeds that would make Rasulullah (SAW) happy. We should follow Rasulullah (SAW) so he will be of us on the day of Judgment. The best way to please Rasulullah (SAW) is to do things that please Allah (SWT) April 8 t h : The Sahabah are role models for us. They were the first to accept Islam. The Sahabah were dedicated and oppression. The Sahabah emulated Rasulullah (SAW) in his generosity, forgiveness, and hard work. We learn from the examples of the sahabah because their way is the way to success in this life and in the hereafter. Page 7 of 9

Abu-Bakr (RAA) earned the title as-siddiq he who confirmed the truth because his faith was very strong. According to the Sunnah of Rasulullah (SAW) the leader of the people is responsible to save the community and take care of its members. April 22 n d : Umar-Ibn Al-Khattab (RAA) A reliable leader. He became one of the great defenders of Islam. A responsible leader is one who is concerned about the welfare and well-being of his or her people. As leaders, we need to be fair and just to all.
