The Prophecies of 99 Lesson 41 Section 3 Part 6 Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5 Part 6 The Southern Kingdom s Future Rebellion Provision of Israel s Restoration Provision of Israel s Peace and prosperity Israel s Prayer and s Response Fulfillment of His Promises to Israel and the World 58 59 60 61:1-63:6 63:7-65:25 66 THE LORD THRONE AND FOOTSTOOL 66:1a Thus says the LORD, " Heaven is My throne, and the earth is My footstool. How big is God? Figuratively, He says that heaven is the place of His throne yet His feet rest on the earth. In reality, He is as big as He wants to be, but that is not the point. The real question is found in the next verse. THE LORD WHAT HOUSE CAN ISRAEL BUILD? 66:1b Where then is a house you could build for Me? And where is a place that I may rest? 2a "For My hand made all these things, Thus all these things came into being," declares the LORD. No man can build a house big enough to house and no man can build a place for to rest. The Lord created His heaven and He created His earth. No one else has created anything. THE LORD LOOK TO THE HUMBLE 66:2b "But to this one I will look, To him who is humble and contrite of spirit, and who trembles at My word. When arrives, He will be looking for the respectful and remorseful who shiver when He speaks. A small group of the nation of Israel will satisfy these requirements. THE LORD DREAD FOR THE OTHERS 66:3 "But he who kills an ox is like one who slays a man; He who sacrifices a lamb is like the one who breaks a dog's neck; He who offers a grain offering is like one who offers swine's blood; He who burns incense is like the one who blesses an idol. As they have chosen their own ways, And their soul delights in their abominations, 4 So I will choose their punishments, And I will bring on them what 99 ALL SCRIPTURES IN THIS LESSON ENTITLED THE Prophecies of ARE TAKEN FROM THE NEW AMERICAN STANDARD BIBLE, COPYRIGHT (C) 1960, 1962, 1963, 1968, 1971, 1972, 1973, 1975, 1977, 1988, BY THE LOCKMAN FOUNDATION. they dread. Because I called, but no one answered; I spoke, but they did not listen. And they did evil in My sight, And chose that in which I did not delight." The horror of will come upon those who do not fear s coming. The worshiper of false gods, the swine eater, those who find delight in disgraceful activities will receive the discipline of and each will dread His arrival. Notice that in this passage, these people will not be punished without cause. The Lord will repeatedly call for them to accept Him but they will purposefully reject Him as they find great joy in their own sinful actions. THE LORD THOSE WHO TREMBLE AT THE WORD OF THE LORD 66:5 Hear the word of the LORD, you who tremble at His word: "Your brothers who hate you, who exclude you for My name's sake, Have said, 'Let the LORD be glorified, that we may see your joy.' But they will be put to shame. The Jews who turn to will be hated by their relatives who choose to reject His call. Sarcastically they will say, Let the LORD be glorified, that we may see your joy. The problem with this attitude is that by the time arrives and is glorified, it will be too late for the sarcastic people. They should have chosen before His arrival. THE LORD THE ROAR FROM THE CITY AND TEMPLE 66:6 "A voice of uproar from the city, a voice from the temple, The voice of the LORD who is rendering recompense to His enemies. 7 "Before she travailed, she brought forth; Before her pain came, she gave birth to a boy. In this passage, is speaking of His voice roaring from the city of Jerusalem as He renders His judgment on all His enemies who are also the enemies of Israel. Before the destruction of the enemies in Jerusalem that will give birth to the new kingdom of, Israel will experience pain as she figuratively gives birth to a boy. THE LORD NATION FORMED IN ONE DAY 66:8a " Who has heard such a thing? Who has seen such things? Can a land be born in one day? Can a nation be brought forth all at once? Has Israel ever heard of a city giving birth to a boy? No. The Lord is revealing a new thing. But Jerusalem will give birth to a new kingdom, the kingdom of. Can the birth of the new kingdom headquarters in Jerusalem be brought forth in a single day? Absolutely! The whole reconstruction of Jerusalem which will occur on the day of s arrival will be completed by evening, according to the prophet Zechariah. 100 THE LORD BIRTH FROM ZION 66:8b As soon as Zion travailed, she also brought forth her sons. 9 "Shall I bring to the point of birth, and not give delivery?" says the LORD. "Or shall I who gives delivery shut the womb?" says your God. Whoever controls Zion controls the political power of Israel. The Jewish leadership in Zion will also come to in those last days of the tribulation. The city will bring forth a kingdom and Zion will bring forth its leadership; it is all part of God s plan and He will assure that it comes to pass. 100 Zechariah 14:7 246

THE LORD JOY AND PEACE IN JERUSALEM 66:10 "Be joyful with Jerusalem and rejoice for her, all you who love her; Be exceedingly glad with her, all you who mourn over her, 11 That you may nurse and be satisfied with her comforting breasts, That you may suck and be delighted with her bountiful bosom." 12 For thus says the LORD, "Behold, I extend peace to her like a river, And the glory of the nations like an overflowing stream; And you shall be nursed, you shall be carried on the hip and fondled on the knees. 13 "As one whom his mother comforts, so I will comfort you; And you shall be comforted in Jerusalem." When arrives in Jerusalem, He will bring eternal peace to the city. Jerusalem will never experience peace until that day. The Lord will provide everything for the Jews who enter into His kingdom. Only then will Israel know true comfort and peace. THE LORD SEE THE LORD INDIGNANT WITH HIS ENEMIES 66:14 Then you shall see this, and your heart shall be glad, And your bones shall flourish like the new grass; And the hand of the LORD shall be made known to His servants, But He shall be indignant toward His enemies. Repeatedly throughout, the message indicates that will bless the Israelites and will punish His enemies when He arrives. The important point in this passage is found in the gladness of the Jews who turn their hearts to. THE LORD HIS COMING WITH FIRE 66:15 For behold, the LORD will come in fire And His chariots like the whirlwind, To render His anger with fury, And His rebuke with flames of fire. A little known fact about the arrival of at His Second is that He will ride in His chariots surrounded by a fiery whirlwind. His anger will be so furious that no one can fight against Him. THE LORD JUDGMENT BY FIRE 66:16 For the LORD will execute judgment by fire And by His sword on all flesh, And those slain by the LORD will be many. 17 "Those who sanctify and purify themselves to go to the gardens, Following one in the center, Who eat swine's flesh, detestable things, and mice, Shall come to an end altogether," declares the LORD. 18 "For I know their works and their thoughts; the time is coming to gather all nations and tongues. And they shall come and see My glory. sword is His WORD that proceeds out of His mouth. In Revelation 19, He says upon His arrival at Armageddon, It is done, and those words slay all His enemies. They will see as He arrives in all His glory and it will be the last thing they see on earth. They will all see Him again at the Great White Throne Judgment when they are resurrected from torment to enter the Lake of Fire, apart from for all eternity. THE LORD A SIGN 66:19 "And I will set a sign among them and will send survivors from them to the nations: Tarshish, Put, Lud, Meshech, Rosh, Tubal, and Javan, to the distant coastlands that have neither heard My fame nor seen My glory. And they will declare My glory among the nations. 247

After the destruction at Armageddon, witnesses will be sent to the Gentile nations to tell them of the glorious arrival of. Tarshish is in Spain. Put is in North Africa, today s Libya and Algeria. Tubal, Meshech and Lud is Turkey. Rosh is Russia and Javen is Greece. These countries will hear the good news of and believe. THE LORD BRETHREN AS GRAIN OFFERING 66:20 "Then they shall bring all your brethren from all the nations as a grain offering to the LORD, on horses, in chariots, in litters, on mules, and on camels, to My holy mountain Jerusalem," says the LORD, "just as the sons of Israel bring their grain offering in a clean vessel to the house of the LORD. Once again, promises that when He is the King in His realm, the Gentile nations will bring regular offerings to the nation of Israel and to s holy mountain in Jerusalem. THE LORD PRIESTS AND LEVITES 66:21 "I will also take some of them for priests and for Levites," says the LORD. 22 "For just as the new heavens and the new earth Which I make will endure before Me," declares the LORD, "So your offspring and your name will endure. Here, again, is a little known fact concerning the selection of the priests of in His new kingdom He will select Gentile priests to serve along with the Israelites. The majority of the Jews and Gentiles in the new kingdom will live for the entire 1,000 years. Their living conditions will change. The light that is emitted from in His Temple in Jerusalem will block the sun in the heavens. The arrival of will also necessitate a change in the topography of the world. It truly will be a different new heaven and new earth compared to what we know today. THE LORD ALL MANKIND WILL BOW 66:23 "And it shall be from new moon to new moon And from sabbath to sabbath, All mankind will come to bow down before Me," says the LORD. The calendar will return to the 354 day lunar cycle; the manmade Gregorian Calendar used today will be put aside. With each new moon, a special form of worship of will be required just as it was in s instruction to Moses. The Sabbath, every seventh day, will also have special requirements for worship. THE LORD ISRAEL LOOK ON CORPSES 66:24 "Then they shall go forth and look On the corpses of the men Who have transgressed against Me. For their worm shall not die, And their fire shall not be quenched; And they shall be an abhorrence to all mankind." 248

Once the kingdom is established in one day s time, Israel will have the opportunity to see the destruction of in Armageddon, Edom, Babylon and Nineveh. Hundreds of thousands, if not millions, will die at s arrival. Although they will experience an earthly death on earth, their spiritual lives will go on for eternity and they will be tormented constantly by the worm and the fire. It will be a disgusting scene for those who choose to look at the devastation brings when He arrives on that day.
