So that mankind can relate to God, He show us patterns so that we can know how to approach, worship, live and.etc. Without the pattern(s), we would not know or understand HIM to relate.

Prior to AD 70 the synagogue was considered a school and was never described as worship.

In Revelation 1:10 we are told that John sees his vision on the Lord's Day, and in 1:12-13 we hear that John sees Christ among the Lampstands: in other words, Jesus is with his church. After the seven letters are sent to the seven churches, John is called to witness the heavenly worship. Assembling for Worship (Rev. 4:1-11)--John is called to witness the worship of the heavenly hosts as they assemble to praise their God. The echo of 2 Chronicles 5:2-5 is quite strong as the expanding circles of persons reaches from the king's closest advisors to the entire assembly of the people of God. The Sin Offering (Rev. 5:1-7)--John weeps because no one is worthy to open the scroll. The scroll contains the purposes of God for history. Sin seems to have caused history to come to a screeching halt. Redemptive history itself can only continue through the sacrifice. Only the Lamb of God who was slain is worthy to proclaim the purposes of God for his people. John is assured that Jesus has triumphed! Enter God's Presence (Rev. 5:8)--Because Jesus has taken the scroll, his people may now come before God with hope.

Psalm of Praise (Rev. 5:9-14)--The people of God declare the praises of the Lamb for the great redemption which he has wrought. Now, the next four items, 1. The Word of God read and preached, 2. The Prayer of the Covenant Community, 3. Fire consuming the sacrifices/glory filling the temple, and 4. The Psalm of Praise, repeat themselves five times. But, each pattern of "sevens" in the Book of Revelation follows this same order.

There are many patterns of seven here, but the following examples will suffice: 1. The numeric value of the three important nouns God, heavens and earth is 777. 2. The numeric value of the one verb created is 203, which is divisible by seven. 3. The numeric value of the first and last letters of all seven words is 1393, which is divisible by seven. 4. The numeric value of the first and last letters of the first and last words is 497, which is divisible by seven.

Solomon assembles Israel for worship (2 Chron 5:2-5) Sin is dealt with through burnt offerings (2 Chron 5:6) Israel enters God's presence through the priests (2 Chron 5:7-10) Psalm of praise (2 Chron 5:11-14) Word of God proclaimed by Solomon (2 Chron 6:1-11) Solomon's prayer of intercession (2 Chron 6:12-42) Fire consumes the sacrifices/glory fills the temple (2 Chron 7:1-2) Psalm of praise (2 Chron 7:3) Israel partakes of the peace offerings (2 Chron 7:4-9) Benediction (Israel departs in peace) (2 Chron 7:10)

God want us to just trust and believe HIM and what He says about us! Hebrew 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Be Spiritually Minded. For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God (Romans 8:6-8). The Bible contrasts two mind-sets: the normal, human one (the fleshly, carnal mind) and the one led by the Spirit of God (the spiritual mind, verse 9). Thus having the Holy Spirit dwelling in us and leading us is another prerequisite for pleasing God.

Fear God The LORD takes pleasure in those who fear Him, in those who hope in His mercy (Psalm 147:11). It s not that God delights in having us be terrified of Him. Psalm 147 describes God as the One who heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds (verse 3). The passage praises His mercy, His knowledge (He knows the names of all the stars!) and His power to save the humble (verses 4-6). The Bible tells us to fear God, not because it is good for Him, but because it is good for us to accurately recognize that He is more powerful than anything else. Acknowledging this shows our deep respect for Him.

Study and Follow Jesus Christ's Example This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him! (Matthew 17:5). Jesus said He always did those things that please Him (John 8:29), so we should study the four Gospels to learn how we, too, can please God.

Obey God Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice (1 Samuel 15:22). God doesn t command us to obey just because it is good for Him, but because it is good for us (Deuteronomy 10:13). His laws and commands are beneficial; and as a result of obeying Him, we grow in godly, righteous character we become more like Him!

Do God's Will. [May God] make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen (Hebrews 13:21). God s will for us goes beyond just knowing what He wants. It involves doing every good work working at maturing spiritually and becoming more like God (Matthew 5:48).

Give the Sacrifice God Wants. Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name. But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased (Hebrews 13:15-16). You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments hang all the Law and Prophets (Matthew 22:37-40).

1. God can speak through circumstances. God spoke to Jonah first with His voice, but Jonah didn t heed God s voice. So God spoke to Jonah through circumstances first, being swallowed by a great fish, and second when a vine grew up to shade Jonah, and then the vine withered (Jonah 1 4). We need to examine our circumstances and ask if we are hearing the Lord through these circumstances. Ask yourself two questions: What s happening in my life right now? What is the Lord telling me through these circumstances? 2. God can speak through wise counsel. This is shown all through Proverbs. When we seek godly counsel we can hear the voice of God. This counsel always complements Scripture. When we seek wise, godly mentors in the Lord, we don t ask them to hear from God for us, but to prayerfully confirm that what we ve heard from the Lord is correct. 3. God can speak through peace. I mentioned Colossians 3:15 in an earlier chapter that God s peace can rule in our hearts. The word rule doesn t simply mean to merely exist. It means to reign or to be a deciding factor. If we don t have peace about a decision, then it isn t from the Lord. Don t move forward unless you have peace.

5. God can speak through dreams and visions. This pattern is shown in the lives of Joseph, Solomon, Jacob, Peter, John, and Paul. This method is available to us today too (see Acts 2:17 where Peter quotes Joel 2:28). 6. God can speak through our thoughts. Amos 4:13 says that God makes known His ways to us through our thoughts. In Matthew 1:19 21, while Joseph thought about things, God spoke to him. We need to be careful here because not every thought in our minds comes from the Lord. Thoughts can also be placed in our minds from the Devil. And we can simply think up things on our own. So every time we get a thought, we need to judge if it is from God. Does it align with Scripture? Does it in any way contradict the character of God? 7. God can speak through natural manifestations. Romans 1:18 20 states clearly that God can make Himself known by nature. The voice of God can be revealed through mountains, water, trees, meadows, landscapes, and more. In John 12:27 30, God spoke from heaven, but when God spoke in this incident, some people who stood nearby thought they were hearing thunder. There s the possibility that this could happen today. Sometimes if we hear thunder, or see floods or hurricanes or high winds or volcanoes, it may actually be the voice of God. 8.God can speak through supernatural manifestations. God spoke to Moses through a burning bush (Ex. 3:1 4). He spoke to Gideon through a fleece (Judg. 6:37 40). He spoke to Saul on the Damascus road through a bright light (Acts 9:1 5). He even spoke to Balaam through a donkey (Num. 22:1 35).

9. God can speak through the Bible. Scripture is always the voice of God in the general sense that God inspired the words of Scripture (2 Tim. 3:16). God can also speak specifically to us through the Bible, by drawing a particular passage to our attention, because the Word of God is living and active (Heb. 4:12). 10. God can speak through a whisper. We discussed in an earlier chapter how God can speak through a still small voice. He spoke this way to Elijah (1 Kings 19:12). Again, the point here is that if we are going to hear God s voice, then we need to listen to Him. We need to tune in to the frequency of heaven and hear the voice of God. Note the warning held out in Jeremiah 7:13: While you have been sinning, I have been trying to talk to you, but you refuse to listen (CEV). Essentially, God is saying to the Israelites that they did any number of wicked things, and He was speaking and speaking to them repeatedly about it, but they did not listen to Him. I love the promise held out for us in Romans 10:17: So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. If you ve ever met a person of great faith, then you ve met a person of great hearing who knows how to listen to the Word of God.

God has a Master Plan for the Earth God's Master Plan is to fill the earth with His glory God's glory is revealed in His character Humans are the vehicles through which God will fill the earth with His glory and show His love The purpose of life is to develop the character of God
