Majors Wayne and Deborah Bungay Divisional Commander Divisional Director of Women's Ministries East Midlands Division United Kingdom with the Republic of Ireland Territory We are in our second year in the UK, developing strategic initiatives within the East Midlands Division and adopting the new Territorial Fit for Mission Initiative. We have also had the privilege of being present for the City of Nottingham s celebration in honour of William Booth. In 1905, William Booth became only the second person to be awarded the Freedom of Nottingham the highest honour a council can award. We have been blessed with the birth of our sixth grandchild and were fortunate enough to be in Canada for Ezra s arrival and to spend some quality time with family. Majors Danielle Strickland and Stephen Court Territorial Social Justice Secretary THQ and Los Angeles County Mission Strategist USA Western Territory The family is settled into the salvation war based in Southern California. We are starting an Army base consisting of cell groups undergirded by Infinitum hubs. These community hubs provide support, accountability and a creative context to explore discipleship as a team sport (for more on this new rule of life see infinitumlife.com). Danielle has started SA Justice a new department at THQ dealing with injustices, such as human trafficking and other types of sexual exploitation. A new resource has been developed called BRAVE, empowering female foster children as they age out of that supervision. Stephen is involved in a campaign to see The Salvation Army gain a spiritual foothold in 150 cities in the region around Los Angeles. Prayer request: Pressing in for revival, revolution, global transformation, inaugurating the great final conquest of our Lord Jesus Christ Catherine Booth.

Major Mark Hall Corps Officer Singapore Central Corps Singapore, Malaysia and Myanmar Territory Dear Lord and Father of mankind, Forgive our foolish ways! Reclothe us in our rightful mind, In purer lives Thy service find, In deeper reverence, praise. Riding the bus in the community where the Singapore Central Corps is located, one can see that we are completely surrounded by thousands of apartments. It is here where families, men, women and children live. Pray for leading of how, what and when, by the Spirit of God. Psalm 55 Give ear to our prayers, O Lord ; For a deeper compulsion to pray for your people as we are reminded in Romans 8:15 and Galatians 4:6; For the youth, that they will be moved by the Spirit of God to follow His leading for their lives; That family/cultural demands will come into line with the Lord s leading. Lieutenants Leonard Heng and Peck-ee Wong Corps Officers Bishan Chinese Corps, Singapore Singapore, Malaysia and Myanmar Territory Although the initial few weeks in Singapore were challenging for us with the heat, humidity, crowdedness on public transit and public places, and listening to Singlish (a mix of English, Chinese dialects and the Malay language), we adjusted quickly. The use of our second language, Mandarin, in conversation, preaching and teaching in the Chinese-speaking corps has been difficult. Not having used the language in the past 10 years while residing in Canada, it has taken a great deal of effort to re-learn some of the Chinese characters, pronunciation and sentence structure. We minister to a group of elderly folk the first Wednesday of each month to share the Gospel with them through conversations, songs, testimonies and videos as we meet their practical needs through hair-cutting services, food vouchers and simple meals. We are thankful to the Lord for creating a way for us to return to our homeland, Singapore, to be with family, to serve other believers and to share Christ with those who are still blinded by the gods of this world.

Dr. Marco Herrera Lopizic and April Barthau Doctor Nurse/Manager The Salvation Army Koki Clinic Papua New Guinea Since arriving in Papua New Guinea, we have been captivated by the rich culture and beautiful landscape. The island has the most beautiful trees and is surrounded by the Pacific Ocean. We have found that there is a high need, not only for increased material wealth, but for the basic necessities of life such as housing, food and clean water. A major concern on the island is the violence against women and children. However, we have been impressed with the Christian commitment and compassion of the people. For wise decisions in government leadership, to move away from a system of corruption; For healthy basic lifestyle changes (hygiene, nutrition, living arrangements, family planning, etc.); For health, safety, and wisdom for us in our new ministry; For violence against women and children to be stopped. Majors Clarence and Karen Ingram Divisional Commander Divisional Secretary for Women s Ministries Bahamas Division, Caribbean Territory The Bahamas/Turks and Caicos Islands Division has five corps located on four islands. The division has strong social ministries which include a school for the blind, a workshop for the blind (manufactures mops), a shelter and other typical community and family services. We love visiting the school for the blind, many of the young people have multiple physical challenges, yet they are always so positive and thankful. Plans are moving forward to build the first Salvation Army building in the Turks and Caicos Islands. Shortly after our arrival last year, we focused on assisting victims of Hurricane Joaquin. This year, while returning from vacation, we were informed that a few hours before arriving, our quarters had been burglarized and burned. Repairing the damage will be a challenge. We are grateful for the support of the Canada and Bermuda Territory. Your thoughtfulness, prayers and emails are always a highlight and inspiration. For the youth of the division, who need strong leadership and commitment; For the officers of the division some serve on distant islands which limits fellowship with other officers.

Commissioners Brian and Rosalie Peddle Chief of the Staff International Secretary for Women s Ministries International Headquarters We continue to be amazed by God s grace and provision as we engage fully in our responsibilities at International Headquarters where we now have a global vision of all that God is doing in The Salvation Army and give Him all glory, honour and praise. We are humbled by the opportunities that come our way and pray daily that God will keep us pure, faithful and resilient so that we can continue to uphold our calling and covenant with integrity and obedience. We are privileged to have the opportunity to travel to many parts of the world as international leaders, participating in numerous special events, meeting Salvationists, employees and volunteers while observing the work of the global Salvation Army on the ground doing ministry and mission in the name of Jesus. We are excited to see how people experience transformation because they have encountered The Salvation Army and have been introduced to Jesus. The Salvation Army is growing in many parts of the world which is real proof that God has his hand upon this movement. We look forward to the future as God gives us faith for even greater things as the Army engages in The Whole World Mobilizing Initiative. Captains Rachele Lamont and Jean-Curtis Plante Corps Officers, Athens Italy and Greece Command It has been an incredible joy and privilege for us to be appointed to serve in Greece and provide immediate assistance to refugees in Athens. Rachele has taken the lead on the Green Light Project (G.L.P.) an effort to support people that have become victims of prostitution and trafficking. The team visits high-risk areas to offer food, drink and friendly, non-judgmental conversation and compassion. Rachele also assists in the corps, running Sunday school and serving when needed. Jean-Curtis has been appointed as the Regional Business and Administration Officer responsible for all financial and administrative duties for Greece and ministry units as well as managing and securing donations worldwide to support efforts in the refugee crisis response. He supervises the Victoria Square Day Centre providing daily food, shelter support, translation, documentation assistance, child care items and internet access for refugees searching for family and options for their future. For God to grace us with the love and skills required to serve the refugees and migrants desperate for help; For our family to learn Greek well and integrate into the local culture and corps; That God will provide for the financial cost of school and childcare which is a personal expense while serving overseas; For a harvest of souls, a strong corps and people willing to come and serve alongside us.

OVERSEAS PARTNERS Commissioners Floyd and Tracey Tidd National Commanders National President of Women s Ministries Australia Territory As we commence our fourth year in Australia, we enter into new appointments as National Leaders charged with the responsibility of uniting two territories to form one national territory. This provides opportunity for aligned vision, united voice, better stewardship, stronger partnerships, increased innovation and greater impact. There is much anticipation across both territories for the journey that lies ahead. We are convinced that God is leading The Salvation Army through this journey and positioning the Army to present Christ and His Kingdom in fresh ways and opportunities. We are humbled and grateful for the opportunity to serve with the Salvos of Australia at this juncture in their history. We greatly appreciate the continued support and friendship of our fellow officers and soldiers as well as family across Canada and Bermuda. Staying connected through social media and technology combined with visits home to Canada keep us rooted. For the continued empowering of His Spirit to accomplish His purposes; To seek His wisdom, discernment and courage as we lead into a new chapter of His-story for The Salvation Army in Australia. Lieutenant Gert Scharf and Auxiliary-Captain Rosi Scharf Corps Officers, Dresden Germany, Lithuania and Poland Territory The Dresden Corps serves the local community in a variety of ways. It has a day centre that provides free breakfast and hot lunch meals for 80-100 needy people a day, a food bank, charity shop, social advice, counselling and a mobile canteen truck that runs three times a week. We operate a municipal transition home for young homeless men on behalf of the city's social department. The corps offers emergency disaster services as needed and, since Fall 2015, it has been involved in refugee ministry as part of a municipal emergency initiative. Though there are almost no new refugees coming at the moment, we are prepared for another wave and hope for God s mercy and power to help us and the needy from wherever they may come. We have also been engaged in individual counselling for asylum seekers since February 2016, helping them cope with a new culture, file applications and find housing. For love, strength and wisdom for the leaders; To find ways to better serve; To find employees who are believers and support the vision of The Salvation Army; That those that seek salvation will be saved; That the Kingdom of God be extended through all the ministries.
