Thursday, April 12 Tel Aviv (Pre-Mission) Welcome to Israel. Upon individual arrivals, meet your arranged transfer and head to the Alexander Hotel in Tel Aviv, Israel s most modern and metropolitan city. Friday, April 13 Tel Aviv / Shabbat Following a delicious breakfast at the hotel, head to Ben-Gurion House, the residence of Israel s first Prime Minister David Ben Gurion until he settled in the Negev with his wife. A visit here allows for unique, tangible insight into the constitutive events in the history of the State of Israel, as it was in this very house that the final version of Israel s Declaration of Independence was written. Continue to the Levinsky Market, which was founded in the 1920s by Balkan immigrants who brought their local flavors with them to Tel Aviv. Today, gourmet restaurant chefs frequent Levinsky Street for fresh spices, dried fruits and storeroasted coffees, as well as olive oils and deli goods. Graze the market from top to bottom with a renowned chef and meet the grandfathers and sons working side by side, who will share their stories about Israel s colorful culinary history. Visit the new Nefesh B Nefesh (NBN) Community Hub on Rothschild Blvd and enjoy a special lunch with Lone Soldiers, who will share their personal stories of leaving their family, friends, and homes in order to serve in the Israel Defense Forces. Hear from Doreet Freedman, VP of Partnerships & Development at NBN, who will discuss the organization s critical work and how Jewish National Fund has played a key role in its success. Later, enjoy free time to wander the Tel Aviv port, known as HaNamal in Hebrew, which has undergone a renaissance over the past ten years to become the vibrant and popular boardwalk and culture center it is today. Walk along the boardwalk and explore the shops and cafés before heading to the Shuk HaNamal the newest and only fully covered marketplace in Tel Aviv to discover local cheeses, artisan olive oils, spices, sweets and more. Saturday, April 14 Tel Aviv / Shabbat Today will be at leisure in honor of Shabbat, providing the opportunity to relax and explore Tel Aviv at your own pace. Services will be offered at the hotel for those who wish to attend. Consider spending the day: Visiting Beit Hatfutsot (the Diaspora Museum) which traces the history and culture of the Jewish people worldwide. Wandering the narrow streets of the chic Neve Tzedek neighborhood. Considered Tel Aviv s first neighborhood, Neve Tzedek been transformed into one of Tel Aviv s most popular places to live, work, and shop. This picturesque area is filled with galleries, artists studios, cafés, restaurants, and unique shops. Touring the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, home to Israel s most extensive collections of modern, contemporary and Israeli art. Or join the following optional day tour: * Masada & Dead Sea Day Tour: Depart on the bus to begin your drive via the Judean Hills along the shores of the Dead Sea, the lowest place on Earth. Continue to Masada, the mountain fortress built by King Herod, where Zealots made their last stand against the Romans, and learn about the history of the Jewish fighters before taking a cable car ride to the top of the Herodian Palace Complex. Afterwards, descend the mountain to the depths of the Dead Sea and take a swim in the buoyant waters or simply relax at the beach. Sunday, April 15 North Gardens at Ramat HaNadiv, also known as Rothschild s Gardens Following breakfast and hotel checkout, start the day with a once-in-a-lifetime Solidarity March down Rothschild Blvd to celebrate 70 years of Israel s independence with distinguished KKL partners, influential leaders, JNF tour participants, and other special guests. Proceed north along the scenic coastal route. Enjoy lunch and a wine-tasting at Tishbi Winery overlooking the estate s lush vineyards. Dine on local cuisine including fresh vegetables, homemade bread, and fresh cheeses from the nearby dairy farms. Continue to the beautiful gardens of Ramat HaNadiv, also known as Baron Rothschild s Memorial Gardens, and learn about Baron Edmond de Rothschild s vision and contribution to one of the first Jewish settlements in Israel. Afterwards, take a dynamic tour led by students and instructors from Alexander Muss High School in Israel of the Aaronson House, which was used during the First World War as the center for underground activity by NILI, a Jewish espionage network which helped the British during their fight against the Ottoman Empire. This evening, check into the Dan Carmel hotel before our official opening dinner with Joe Hyams, CEO of HonestReporting, who works to promote fair and accurate media coverage of Israel and has experience training and lecturing thousands of people around the world on how to identify and counter anti-israel bias. Monday, April 16 Western Galilee Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before heading to Kfar Masaryk for an authentic kibbutz experience. During a tour, hear an overview of the kibbutz and its relationship with Western Galilee Now (WGN) from CEO Michal Shiloah. Afterwards, enjoy an interactive chocolate-making workshop with Chef Hagit Lidror and a unique keychain-making workshop with a local leather artist before partaking in a traditional Hora dancing session led by a teacher from the community. Following lunch, visit the community of Pelech to survey the new housing sites made possible by the support of Jewish National Fund. Later, head to Erez College in Shlomi, a school dedicated to providing practical engineering and natural gas training in Northern Israel. Tuesday, April 17 Jerusalem (Erev Yom Hazikaron) Barracks in Atlit Detention Camp After breakfast and hotel checkout, depart for the Atlit Detention Camp, where thousands of Jewish immigrants were once imprisoned upon their arrival into Israel during the British Mandate. See the restored Galina, a replica of a ship that carried 122,000 illegal immigrants in defiance of the British blockade to Israel. After the tour, enjoy a catered lunch with a special guest speaker. Continue south and check into the luxurious Cramim Hotel, located on a scenic hill right outside Jerusalem. Following dinner at the hotel, the evening will be spent observing Erev Yom HaZikaron, known as The evening of Remembrance Day. Join together with all of the Israel@70 Tour participants at Ammunition Hill, the site where the definitive battle for the reunification of Jerusalem took place during the Six-Day War, for an exclusive ceremony in honor of soldiers who have fallen protecting their country and victims of terrorist attacks. Hear personal stories from Lone Soldiers, young Israeli immigrants who volunteered to leave their family, friends, homes to enlist in the Israel Defense Forces and serve the State of Israel. Wednesday, April 18 Central (Yom Hazikaron) Today marks Israel s Memorial Day. The day will begin at the 9/11 Living Memorial, built in memory of the victims of the September 11 terrorist attacks. Designed by award-winning Israeli artist Eliezer Weishoff, this unique site is the only place outside of the United States that recognizes the names of the people who were killed on 9/11. Participate in a powerful ceremony with all tour participants and pay tribute to those who lost their lives as victims of a terrorist attack or brave soldiers who fell in battle protecting their country. At 11:00am, hear the sirens sound as we pause with all the people of Israel for a moment of silence. Visit the Gush Etzion Winery for a tasty lunch and wine tasting at the Dairy and Fish restaurant, located in the heart of the winery. Proceed to the Gush Etzion Visitor Center at Kibbutz Kfar Etzion, which commemorates the heroic men and women who gave their lives to protect the communities of the Etzion Bloc in 1947, when the area blockaded and attacked in response to the U.N. resolution to partition Palestine during Israel s War of Independence. Visit the Boys Promenade, a memorial Gil-Ad Shaer, Naftali Frenkel, and Eyal Yifrah three teenage boys awaiting a ride home from their yeshivas at a Gush Etzion bus stop were kidnapped and murdered by terrorists. In an effort to enhance the quality of life and make the area safe and secure, JNF has collaborated with the Gush Etzion Regional Council and the Gush Etzion Foundation to build this promenade not only as a memorial, but to help to bring security to the region and provide a safe way to travel on foot between the communities. Continue to Jerusalem and spend the afternoon on a comprehensive walking tour of the Old City of Jerusalem. Explore the Jewish and Christian Quarters in all of their history and wonder, hear the soft sounds of prayer and contemplation at the Kotel, and discover the ancient City of David. Afterwards, enjoy some free time in the Old City. Tonight marks the beginning of Yom Ha atzmaut, Israel s Independence Day. Enjoy dinner as a group at a local restaurant before immersing yourself in Israeli culture and celebrating at one of the many open concerts and parties. Consider spending time on Ben Yehuda Street, the beating heart of Jerusalem s center-city life, or heading to Machane Yehuda to experience the lively night scene as bars and restaurants open up while the rest of the market shuts down. Thursday, April 19 Yom Ha atzmaut / Departure Following breakfast and hotel checkout begin the day at Ammunition Hill and follow in the footsteps of the soldiers who fought here on a walking tour through the battlegrounds and bunkers. See the new, state-of-the-art Six-Day War Museum and multimedia show about the historic battle that reunified Jerusalem. Conclude at JNF s Wall of Honor, which honors Jewish veterans from around the world. Later, join with all of the tracks of the Israel@70 Tour for a special IDF Air Show. Look on from a clear vantage point as a range of aircrafts from the Israeli Air Force fleet perform their annual air show and fly over the city. This afternoon, rejoice with everyone one last time and celebrate Yom Ha atzmaut like local Israeli s do during a festive farewell BBQ lunch at Yitzhak Rabin Park, which features forests, scenic paths and outlooks, and heritage sites of Israel s recent and ancient past. The location of this celebratory BBQ is made even more special given the namesake of the park and the role he played in Israel s independence. In April 1948, during the War of Independence, 26-year-old Yitzhak Rabin held command of the Harel Brigade, which engaged in the heaviest of combat operations for the crucial passageway, Sha ar HaGai, to Jerusalem and the city, itself, and was also involved in the construction of the strategic Burma Road. Once a scene of battles waged for an independent Israel, the Burma Road and Sha ar HaGai are now part of the Yitzhak Rabin Park. Afterwards, drive along the Burma Road, and see the oversized silhouette figures that have been placed to recall the fortitude of the Haganah, who worked tirelessly to construct the road. Then head to Latrun and visit Yad LaShiryon, Israel s official memorial site for fallen soldiers from the armored corps and open-air museum featuring more than 200 tanks and military vehicles dating back to WWI. Explore the museum and learn of the location itself, which was a major battle ground during the War of Independence and then liberated from Jordanian rule during the Six-Day War in 1967. Enjoy a farewell dinner before transferring to Ben Gurion Airport for return flights to the U.S. (unless joining the optional extension). Ammunition Hill Trenches

Start at the JNF Chudnow Visitor Center and discover the park s archeological and geological treasures, such as King Solomon s breathtaking pillars, ancient copper mines, and mountains that afford spectacular views. Enjoy lunch at the park before taking time to explore the beautiful hiking and biking trails at your leisure. Continue to the Botanical Garden of Eilat. Grown on a former military outpost, this biblical style garden offers a unique combination of rare plants and herbs, bird sanctuaries, a rain forest, and an abandoned military bunker. Return to the hotel to freshen up before heading to the promenade for a walking tour. Sunday, April 22 Arava / Departure Following breakfast and hotel checkout proceed to Yotvata, the oldest kibbutz in the Arava, and home to one of the leading dairies in Israel. Experience the famous ice cream and chocolate milk of Yotvata on a special Chocolate Milk Trail tour of the Dairy Farm. The original formula for Yotvata s famous chocolate milk has not changed since it was first developed 40 years ago in fact, only two people can access the kibbutz s safe, where the Yotvata chocolate milk formula is kept. Continue north to the Vidor Visitor Center, a multimedia facility that offers a taste of the Arava in all its variety. Take a multi-sensory tour to learn about the advanced agriculture of the region; watch a 3D film screening to hear about its rich history; visit a greenhouse that showcases quality local crops; and journey through an interactive museum for an insider s view into the lives of Arava families and farmers.
