P.2 About Us Cosmic Publishing aims at publishing art that enhances cosmic consciousness. Art does not explain truth, but manifests it inside the one who is enjoying it, by subtly influencing the emotional field. At the same time art may visualize ancient knowledge, and thus make it more accessible. Such art becomes a powerful means for educating and healing people emotionally. Creating spiritual art is a valuable act of worship, a meditative process that brings the artist closer to the divine. Such art should be supported and so should the artists that make it. Cosmic Publishing was founded end of 2005 after Hossain Abdul Ranjbar got to know the richness of the art made by Sanatan Society artists. Hossain is originally Iranian, but lived in India between 1980 and 1985 where he studied yoga. In 1986 he moved to Belgium Europe where he lived until 2006. Having ample experience and business success in other domains, but getting little personal and spiritual satisfaction out of it, the decision to enter the field of spiritual art publishing was easy to make. After producing a first set of posters in 2006, Cosmic Multimedia Private Limited was founded in Goa-India, allowing Hossain to realize his dream of setting up a dharmic business there. While Cosmic Publishing also serves the Indian market, our outlook is absolutely international. Our first product line consists of a set of 36 quality posters made with the art of Pieter Weltevrede. Many other interesting products will follow. About the Art All art used in this first poster series is of the hand of master artist Pieter Weltevrede. Pieter is the most productive artist associated with Sanatan Society, an international networking organization founded by the students of the late Harish Johari, well-known artist, Tantric scholar and author. Pieter Weltevrede met Harish Johari in 1977 in Holland, where he became fascinated with the healing and centering power of the ancient Tantric practice of yantra painting. Over time he devoted more and more of his attention to mastering the North Indian iconographic painting techniques. Since 1988 he is traveling to India annually where he deepened his knowledge and friendship with late Harish Johari, and also studied with Johari's art teacher, Master Chandra Bal, and Suresh Johari. His output is prolific and includes all of the Hindu and Buddhist main spiritual art expressions. The wash painting technique used by Pieter has both watercolor and tempera. The colors of each painting are largely washed off and repainted several times before it is considered done. That creates a very special effect, where the light comes from within the deity or yantra, soft but radiant, magnetic and enlightening. The meditation on these paintings and yantras of deities is an essential part of Tantric worship and Kundalini Yoga. It enables one to get in contact with the energy patterns associated with the deity through the visual hemisphere of our brain. Such paintings reach beyond the senses into the very essence of our being.
