ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS We present in this collection a rich harvest of our 59th International Congress of Phenomenology, TRANSCENDENTALISM REVISITED, hosted by the University of Antwerp, Belgium, on July 8 10, 2009, in which we make an overview of the present-day discussions, views, or traces upon the place in the present day philosophy of the great modern-contemporary controversy concerning transcendentalism of E. Kant and Edmund Husserl. Thanks go, in the first place, to numerous scholars coming to participate in this enormous debate. Our host, Professor Reynolds and his local collaborators, deserve our thanks for their great hospitality which we have enjoyed in Antwerp. I thank Jeff Hurlburt and Louis Tymieniecki Houthakker for their usual contribution in carrying out the editing and preparation of this volume. xiii
