MARS UP CHURCH We are your hometown church: Faithful to Tradition, Loving in Fellowship & Reaching for Tomorrow! October 2016 Keep Up the Good Spirit! On Rally Day, September 11th, two of my friends, (pictured below with the Ivorys) both Presbyterian Ministers, visited our church, They attended the worship service, participated in Tarry N Talk, and then stayed for the luncheon at noon. Before they left they both commented on their visit, and were very complimentary to us. One said, This is a very good church. and the other said, There is a wonderful spirit here! That is a professional endorsement to what I have been saying all year to anyone who asks me about Mars UP church including in my conversations with two potential candidates. The spirit in this congregation is a good selling point to potential candidates. The Apostle Paul said, If we live in the spirit we must also walk in the spirit!, in other words, don t just talk about our faith, let is show in the way we walk. So my hope and prayer for MUP is that you will KEEP UP THE GOOD SPIRIT! And KEEP UP IN GOOD WALK! Blessings, Bill

When they have decided on their final choice, they will ask the Committee on Ministry of the Presbytery for their approval. The candidate will then be invited to preach for MUP church, after which you as the congregation will have the opportunity to vote. When that is approved it goes to the Presbytery Meeting for a vote, and with approval the call will be completed and a date will be set for the beginning of the new Pastoral relationship. The PNC has been very faithful, meeting almost every week. Please remember to keep our covenant to pray at least every Thursday, if not more often for the committee and for those candidates with whom they are meeting, for the wisdom and insight necessary to discern the call from this church and to the new pastor. Join us for our Fall Fest & Bonfire October 30th @ 5pm Enjoy this year s Fall Fest & Bonfire on Oct 30th at 5pm at Quality Gardens.
