The Vision Newsletter of First Baptist Church July 10, 2017 VBS On MY Heart A schoolmate of Matt Chandler s with the locker next to his: I need to tell you about Jesus. When do you want to do that? I love it! What a way to set up an opportunity to share the gospel and bring someone to Christ. When do you want to do that? Why not do it with children at VBS? I mean after all, children are humble, obedient, receptive and so willing to trust. As a matter of fact, children were never told to come as adults. Rather, adults were told to come as children. Many of the faithful in our churches today were people who had childhood conversions and a large number of those were during VBS. VBS is happening as you receive this newsletter. Would you pause right now for a moment and pray for our VBS, workers, and especially the children who are ready to believe and receive Christ into their life as Savior and Lord. Jesus said, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein. (Mark 10:14-15) Blessings, Brother Gary
What a great week at Falls Creek! We took about 60 students and had 8 decisions for Christ. 6 of those were decisions to follow Jesus for Salvation. We even got to baptize one student in the creek in front of our cabin. We had great times of worship both in the morning and evening. Thank you to the sponsors and cooks who gave up their time to minister to our students. Also, thank you to those who give so generously so our students can participate in Falls Creek. Please be praying for these students as they continue to strive to follow Jesus more closely in their everyday life. -Steve
